Check Out Lauren Davidson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Davidson.

Hi Lauren, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Early in my life, I knew I was a creator. Way back in high school, the place I thrived most at school was in the darkroom. I quickly found a passion for film photography which ultimately led me down the path I have taken toward Wedding Photography. Learning film helped me learn camera functions and master manual settings early on and now I am confident in shooting in any lighting situation.

I went to college and pursued a few different paths before circling back to photography. Getting my degree in Healthcare Administration with an emphasis in business taught me a lot about entrepreneurship in a roundabout way. I am proud to say I am now a full-time Wedding photographer!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Born and raised in California with all my circles (family, friends, clientele) revolving around the west, moving to the south was a big change, but the community of creatives here is amazing and welcoming.

Though it was a challenge to start marketing my business in a new location where I knew no one, it has blossomed and I am happy with the direction I am headed. My husband has been my biggest supporter along the way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I shot my first wedding after my own wedding in 2020 and have since developed my style to the point where I am today. I love capturing every emotion on wedding days, from the couple getting ready with close friends and family to the first look either privately or down the aisle and every moment in between.

There is so much happiness that comes from capturing these moments and making these priceless memories in couples’ lives become something tangible to share and print for years to come. Creating a seamless and memorable experience for my couples is so important to me.

I want them to all know that I have their back, all the way to the details of bustling their dress, or working around bad weather.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Something I have noticed a change the most in the last two years is that smaller, intimate weddings and elopements become a more relevant and acceptable alternative.

This allows couples to be more intentional and invest in what they care about most, which is usually their closest friends and family sharing the most important moment in their lives. Having had a mid-pandemic intimate wedding myself, I have been able to help couples overcome the obstacles of wedding planning.
