Check Out Leah Marie Mason’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Mason.

Hi Leah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I was always around music. My dad was a drummer and my brother was an extremely talented multi-instrumentalist so I was always inspired by them and what they were doing. When I was 10-13 years old, my brother and I played in a 70’s rock band that toured across North Carolina.

The first stage I ever performed on was the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh in front of over 200 people. Ever since that moment I was hooked and knew music and performing were what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I ended up going to Berklee College of Music my freshman year of college and loved it, but realized if I wanted a career in country music Nashville was where I needed to be.

I transferred to Belmont University which ended up being one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I decided I wanted to start putting out my own music even though I was completely independent at the time. I decided to post a TikTok to promote the song and that video ended up amassing over 13 million views, and the rest is history!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth ride at all!

When I first transferred to Belmont, I honestly thought I had made a huge mistake. I missed all of my friends from Berklee and wasn’t sure I could ever make a name for myself in Nashville since it was so competitive. Honestly, right up until I had the success that I did on TikTok, I had my doubts about making it as an artist.

I’m so happy and grateful things have worked out the way that they have since I’ve always really felt that music and songwriting were my callings.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a country artist based in Nashville, TN. I’m known more specifically for my debut single titled “Far Boy” which went viral on TikTok in 2021. To me, I’m most proud of the music videos that I have made over the past year.

So much time and energy went into creating them and making them fit my vision and every single one is so special to me. I think what sets me apart is that my music is more universal than some country music out there right now.

I try to write real-life honest experiences that I myself have been through and I feel like you can really hear that in my lyrics which is why I think it has been so well received on social media.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My team has been such a blessing to me.

They are my everyday cheerleaders and fighters and I really owe so much of my success to them. They work so hard every single day to keep me and my career moving forward.

Also, my parents have been so supportive every step of the way and I have been so lucky to have them in my corner during all of this.
