Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Kinsman.
Hi Linda, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my blog, My WAHM Plan, 11 years ago after hearing about the fun blogging community from a Facebook post. I had no idea what blogging really entailed, but I wanted to be part of a welcoming community of other work-at-home moms, so I dove right in. My plan was to share how I was able to keep my focus on family and home while working part-time at home, so I named my blog My WAHM Plan.
I quickly fell in love with the creative aspect of blogging and creating content. Early on, I was invited to join a small group of mom bloggers and I’m happy to say I still talk with some of those moms today.
Lots has changed in the 11 years I’ve been blogging, but I still love the creative process! It’s a joy to get to work with brands I admire, while still focusing on my home and family.
The whole blogging and content creation industry has grown so much since I first started in the fall of 2010! Back then, I was focusing on sharing my content on Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter. Now, it’s hard to keep up with all the social media platforms!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I love sharing content on my blog and social channels that women, especially moms, would find useful. I enjoy sharing helpful products, good books to read, family-friendly recipes, and fun local activities, all with a dash of positivity, color and flowers!
I’m proud that I’m still writing and sharing relevant content today. Great opportunities have come my way because I took a leap of faith and started blogging, like becoming a member of the Music City Film Critics Association last month and doing this interview for you.
I think there will always be a place for written content, like blog posts. However, the shift to visual content will lead to longer captions on social media platforms like Instagram.
