Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcie Anderson. She and her Team shared their story with us below:
A graduate of Louisiana State University’s Architecture program, Marcie Anderson worked at a local Nashville Architecture firm before starting her home staging and interiors company, HomeStyled Nashville Staging and Design.
Marcie enjoys the fast-paced real estate market. We have staged over 1000 homes in the Nashville area since conception. We use a blend of styles for our staging. Each home is uniquely stylized according to its space. We take great pride in our warehouse, which includes an eclectic mix of antique and vintage pieces, along with more modern furnishings and statement florals.
I’m a sucker for a good before-and-after situation. I love that we can walk into an empty house and, in a matter of a few hours, completely transform the space into a warm, welcoming space.
I like to think that my architectural background has helped me grasp the feel of a home. By understanding the architecture of a home, I can map out a plan for furniture placement, paint, and lighting that truly highlight a home’s features.
Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Has it been a smooth road, I would say relatively? Growth has been a fun journey. We are constantly adding to our inventory. Our staging production has doubled within the past two years.
We often have buyers and even sellers who have seen our staging and request assistance with their new homes. In response to that need, we have hired additional designers to grow that side of our business.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Even as a child, I remember rearranging furniture in my bedroom. My husband has endured my constant re-decorating for a number of years, but to me, the idea of transforming a space gives me a sense of comfort. I take pride in the work that we do at HomeStyled, as I feel that each home that we stage gets the same hand-selected styling that my personal home does.
Our styled homes have a collected sense about them, so the style doesn’t appeal to just one type of client. They feel collected, familiar, and comforting. We source pieces from local artisans, estate sales, and eBay and marry them with contemporary pieces to create a unique look that is ours alone.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
My graphic designer father has instilled a sense of creativity in me.
I remember flipping through his photography books as a child, lost in the images for hours. There was always a strong sense of art in my life. Color and the puzzle of fitting patterns and textures together to create a harmonious environment have always inspired me.
