Today we’d like to introduce you to Moe Perry.
Hi Moe, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
More Creations started as a hobby in quarantine 2020 when my fiancé’s first words were “can you make this shirt for me.” I immediately replied back, yes. This was the start of something new considering I’ve been in my career field of sociology and social work for the last ten years.
This was my opportunity to be “crafty.” As I became more creative one thing led to the next. Now, one month later I’m booked with tons of T-shirt orders. Between working my career job and small business I became exhausted. My way of relaxing was going home and hand pouring my own soy wax candles for affirmation.
They represented hope and restoration. This candle was a perfection a year prior to its launching in 2022. More Creations now solely service candles. The small batches are dropped once a month to ensure quality and to allow curing time. Every month has been a blessing to sell out. Our candles are poured with a purpose.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing is perfect without a struggle. There’s been extremely long nights and other nights with no rest. When you are pouring a meaningful purpose it means more than just pouring wax.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Nashville and Clarksville, TN have been home since 2008.
As a graduate of Austin Peay State University in 2012, I have been in the city long enough to watch empty spaces become filled. There’s been so much growth in middle TN in the last decade.
It is rapidly growing. The support from complete strangers and other small local businesses has made More Creations successful and understand the “why” of having a small business.
