Check Out Raven Chain’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raven Chain.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have personally always been into music from a very young age. Coming from a family that was very Christian and involved in gospel music, I was pretty much inspired from the start. Around age 10 I discovered rock music through finding Alice Cooper and I was hooked! It wasn’t just the music… the aspect of theatre and showmanship really pulled me in as well.

That is when I decided I wanted to learn how to play guitar and did just that. Being from a family that would be considered poor, I couldn’t afford lessons so instead, on a guitar that I shared with my little brother Jimi, I tried to recreate the sounds I loved from my favorite artists I.e. Jimi Hendrix, Alice Cooper, David Bowie, KISS and Pink Floyd to name a few.

After a few years I decided to form a band with some high school buddies Jon Warren and Ian Shriver. We weren’t good at all but kept at it and playing whatever shows we could get on. At 16 I bought an old ford econoline van and we started touring out of West Virginia up the east coast to NYC and the surrounding areas. After receiving a good response we decided to get more serious and recorded our first demo. We continued putting on the most outrageous shows that we could think of and gaining a sort of cult following with fans.

After several member and band name changes, Sister Kill Cycle was born in 2000. The band relocated to Clearwater, Fl in 2003 and released the first EP “Massacre the Guilty” which was mastered by Sara Lee Lucas(ex Marilyn Manson) and Trace Michaels(Celine Dion,NIN). Through the visibility of this release and the constant live shows, Sister Kill Cycle attracted the eye of industry professionals and were offered several high end performance slots at the world famous Winter Namm in Anaheim, Ca!

The band continued to tour through the United States building a strong and loyal fanbase as well as releasing three more full length albums “Redemption Through Rebellion”, “Almost Human” and “Cross My Heart” and are currently about to release their most recent album “We Were Ghosts on label Von Artists Ltd. On May 16,2025.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The music industry is never smooth, it only appears that way to the fans lol. There has been countless obstacles along this 35 year career including lack of finances, internal strife, member changes and trying not to be labeled as a Marilyn Manson copycat to name a few.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As well as music and performing, I personally also love to paint.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Most of my childhood was tragic. I don’t really have any fond memories.
