Check Out Sacra Victoria’s Story

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Sacra Victoria.

Sacra Victoria

Hi Sacra, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started my musical journey at 13 when I picked up the guitar. Coming from a non-musical family, I discovered the world of metal and rock entirely on my own. I was around 11 when Guitar Hero 3 was released, and although I wasn’t particularly skilled at the game, it ignited a passion to learn the real instrument.

The music featured in the game, including iconic tracks like “Cliffs of Dover,” “Barracuda,” “Devil Went Down to Georgia,” and “Heartbreaker,” captivated me like nothing I had heard before. I was instantly hooked and knew I wanted to transition from the virtual realm of the game to the real stage.

Inspired by characters like Casey Lynch in the game, I set my sights on mastering the guitar and fulfilling my dream of performing live. Through dedication, practice, and a love for music, I’ve pursued that dream and continue to grow and evolve as a musician today.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’ve been fortunate to haven’t encountered insurmountable challenges in my musical journey. However, there have been hurdles along the way. One of the biggest challenges was dedicating the extensive time needed for practice on the guitar. Gradually, I worked up to practicing around 10 hours a day at certain points in my life.

Additionally, learning how to play and understand music theory on my own presented its own set of challenges. I was determined to master it, so I spent countless hours scouring the internet and reading numerous books to absorb as much knowledge as possible. Receiving a full scholarship from Berklee College of Music validated the skills I had developed and motivated me to continue learning and growing.

Another challenge that I am grateful to have not experienced is inequality! While many women in the music industry face feelings of inequality, I’ve been fortunate not to experience such treatment in my 10-plus years of playing music. I am incredibly grateful for this and remain focused on honing my craft and pursuing my passion.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe you can tell us more about your work next?
I’m a shred guitarist specializing in all things metal! My expertise lies in offering guitar lessons, live performances as a hired gun, session work, collaborations, and more. Stay tuned for the release of my original music by following me to stay updated on my progress.

Performing live is one of my greatest passions in playing guitar, and I thoroughly enjoy both writing and performing vocal and instrumental music. I take immense pride in becoming the guitarist I always aspired to be – someone who shreds, writes, understands music theory, and performs with my band while collaborating with many other talented musicians.

Additionally, I am proud to earn a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music, a prestigious honor given to only one or two individuals per year. What sets me apart from others is that I am a female guitarist. While this is becoming less rare every day, it still makes me unique in the music industry.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, I anticipate significant shifts and trends in the guitar industry. Firstly, I believe we’ll see a notable increase in the representation of women playing guitar, particularly in metal music, where they will emerge as prominent figures.

Additionally, while much guitar music may be trending towards a modern, over-processed sound, I foresee a resurgence of classic shred music with a fresh twist. This revival will blend elements of modern guitar sounds with neoclassical influences and old-school shred techniques, creating a new and innovative sound that appeals to a wide range of audiences.
