Check Out Sarah Gargano’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Gargano.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started writing songs when I was in high school as a coping mechanism for being bullied. I recorded my first EP in Nashville in 2017 and my 2nd in Nashville in 2019.

I just recorded a single in Nashville, to come out soon, a few weeks ago. As a long-time Taylor Swift fan, it was always a dream of mine to go to Nashville. I went for my first time in high school and fell in love with the city after playing the Bluebird open mic. I’ve played a ton of shows around New York City – where I grew up – and have played shows all over – I even opened for Jeffrey Lewis in Huddersfield, England.

I started my small jewelry business in response to all the free time I had during COVID. I started making new crafts and people liked them so much that they wanted to buy them, so I decided to make more and to start selling them. I mainly make and sell book/movie earrings and charm necklaces, though my initial COVID accessory-making hobby started with beaded bags. I love collecting vintage charms and making unique jewelry for each customer.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are always bouts of self-criticism and self-doubt. Pursuing any form of art as a career doesn’t have one obvious path and it tends to be harder for other people to accept or understand.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Singer/songwriter & jewelry maker! I’m lyrically focused and write very honest songs.

I also do lots of other art and writing such as photography, collaging, screenwriting, and journaling.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I have some new songs coming out soon and am updating both of my websites…
