Today we’d like to introduce you to Savannah Rae
Hi Savannah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have to give my love and appreciation of music to my parents. They introduced me to all different genres at such a young age. From country, to rock, to pop, to 16th century lute music, you name it. They started taking me to concerts when I was around 10 years old. I specifically remember going to an Evanescence concert and being completely enamored with Amy Lee, the lead singer. I turned to my mom and told her that I wanted to do what Amy was doing. Thankfully, my mom took me very seriously when I said this and enrolled me into vocal and guitar lessons and the rest was history! I had my first full band show at age 12 at a place called Sam’s Burger Joint in San Antonio, and fell in love with performing. I knew right then and there that music was what I wanted to do with my life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Being an independent artist comes with it’s fair share of struggles. I thought that I signed up to be a singer and musician and just work on music, however, there are about 12 other hats/jobs I have to do that have nothing at all to do with music. From graphic design, marketing, posting on social media, content creating, booking, van/bus driivng, being my own roadie, selling my own merch, etc. It’s definitely a 24/7 kind of job.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have been fortunate to have had a whirlwind of opportunities that include touring intimate and large venues, performing on the main stage of the Texas State Fair twice where I opened for Jason Aldean and Dasha, playing a sold out stadium show with Jon Pardi, appearances on the American Music Awards and on NBC’s The Voice, along with being a brand ambassador for Boot Barn, Country Outfitter, C Force Water by Chuck Norris, Gator Cases, Miranda Lambert’s clothing line, Idyllwind, Grunt Style, Elixir Strings, and Riser United.
From singing for a former President of the United States, to opening for Chris Janson at the Audacy Undercover Concert in Florida, to even opening and closing the night for Jason Aldean yet again at Countryfest in Wisconsin, I have had a wonderful set of experiences thus far.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I am constantly collaborating and co-writing with many talented artists in and around Nashville! I’m just a dm away on any social media @thesavannahrae
