Check Out Shawn Day’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shawn Day.

Hi Shawn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started this franchise a few months ago because I had a passion for pets. I knew I wanted some kind of pet store someday and this was my dream.

Dee-O-Gee was awesome and the perfect choice for me – because not only is it a retail holistic pet food store, but it is also a full grooming salon, and a fun, small and exclusive, boutique-style doggy daycare.

I could not be happier with the choice of this as my franchise, the fulfillment of my lifelong dreams.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s not always been a smooth road. Finding the Berry Farms area was a challenge but once we did, it’s an incredible place to be.

Also getting the word out that we are actually here has been a bit of a struggle. We’ve only been open for five months, so we still need lots of awareness in the community to know the good things that we offer here. But that’s what this interview is for, right?

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the owner of my franchise, and I am also a groomer. At Dee-O-Gee, we are known for the high-quality holistic pet food that we offer, as well as our high-quality grooming salon.

We groom the dogs for many country music star owners and we are known as “the groomers to the stars.” This sets us apart from other grooming salons.

At Dee-O-Gee, we are three businesses in one- retail, grooming, and boutique doggy daycare.

I am most proud that we are starting to offer dog training in our facility as well. It’s going to be an adventure.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see this industry growing really large in the next 5 to 10 years. Everyone has a dog or everyone wants a dog.

There is a lot of potential for more grooming and honestly the more information that gets out about high-quality dog food the better. We want our dogs to live longer and healthier lives and stay with us as long as they can.

They are part of our family after all.
