Check Out Shellem Cline’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shellem Cline.

Shellem Cline

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started singing gospel music with my family at the age of 6. When I was 16 years old, my grandfather left the road and I became a soloist. In 2015, I transitioned into Christian Country music and currently to date have had 12 number-one songs. I have a new album called “Burn On” being released in February 2024 and officially signed with Square One Records in Nashville.

I record all my music in Nashville, and I’m an accredited songwriter. I have written all my material and written for several other artists in gospel and Country music from the local to National level. I am married to my wife Megan and have three wonderful kids, Ella (8 years old), Amelia (7 years old), and Lena (6 years old).

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The industry politics. I go out and do my thing and it’s been hard to push your way in and make a name for yourself.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m in the Christian Country. I perform at churches, fairs and festivals, auction houses, senior centers, campgrounds, and various other attractions. In churches, I do straight Christian Country material, in more secular venues I share my Christian Country tunes, original family-friendly country cover tunes, and hilarious comedy that anyone of any age can enjoy.

When my kids are at the shows, I bring them up on stage to perform with me as well. I don’t just sing at my events I make it more of an experience. I engage the audience and have them be a part of the program by inviting them to sing a couple of tunes with me and share stories behind the songs as well.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I’m from Hickory, North Carolina, and travel across the southeast mainly. My majority of states are North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Georgia and Alabama, Texas, and Florida.
