Check Out Sydnee Floyd’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydnee Floyd. Them and their team share their story with us below:

From the age of foour, Sydnee’s passion for helping others has only grown. From helping her mom take care packages to young children for Christmas to donating her clothes for her friends. Sydnee’s passion was sparked at a young age. Now at 17 years old, she has only continued her passion for helping others and making a difference in her community.

From being featured by Country Superstar, Dierks Bentley, in his music video Woman Amen and seeing hands-on the need in her community, Sydnee started Jumbled Dreams-Changing Lives at 13 years old to inspire others to make a change in their community by finding their passions through various volunteer opportunities. Since beginning Jumbled Dreams in 2018, Sydnee has raised over 90,000 pounds of food, 50,000 toiletries, over 15,000 articles of clothing, and 15,000 dollars to help her community. She has also partnered with over 25 organizations across the world to spread the mission of Jumbled Dreams.

In the past year alone, Sydnee has had the opportunity to start an Anti-bullying and Suicide Awareness Podcast called Positive Dreams Project, in partnership with Positive Change Project, in order to spread awareness about key issues like bullying, suicide, and mental health.

She has also started her own kindness calendar with small, attainable opportunities to be kind every day. Through all of this, Sydnee is blessed every single day to be a part of a change much larger than her.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been an easy road at all. Since birth, the road has been a constant uphill battle. Sydnee was diagnosed with six different autoimmune disorders at a young age and was limited on what she could do. She had to quit sports, something she loved, and find other passions. At the age of 6, her parents separated and later divorced, the journey of life took an even more twisted road. However, deep down helping others was always a way out for Sydnee and a way to help others when they were suffering.

It was something that made her happy in a world full of twists and turns. Once Sydnee entered middle school she was bullied and received death threats because of her leadership, but instead, she used that to inspire her to spread kindness throughout the world, rather than conform to the hateful words that were said about her.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Jumbled Dreams is unique. We want everyone to find their place for making a difference no matter if they have different passions than Sydnee, her family, or even the world. There is always a place to help others no matter who you are.

Something that I am most proud of is that we still stay true to who we are after the countless roadblocks we have faced. Nothing can compare to helping others and we will always find ways to make a difference in the world because we have the power to make the change.

Anyone can make a difference, so nothing sets us apart. The person reading this right now, you can make a difference, believe that you can. Look in your community for a need. It is there. Find your passions, and most importantly it is never too late to follow your dreams.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is love. I know that sounds cliché. But so many people in this world feel like they are not loved and cared for when you are. You deserve to be in this world. Love is a powerful force that everyone deserves to feel.

Without the love of my family, friends, and community I would not be where I am today. I am beyond thankful for all of them and thankful for their love for bringing us together. Know that you are not alone. We are all here to spread love not hate.
