Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Loeffel.
Hi Taylor, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
On a hot summer day three years ago, I jumped in the car—pregnant with my second baby, a dream in my heart, and $500 in my pocket. I was headed to the Sewing and Vacuum shop in Murfreesboro, TN—a place full of kind, welcoming people. On the drive, I prayed and asked God to guide me.
My faith is everything to me, and I’ve always believed that with prayer and hard work, anything is possible. I left that day with a small embroidery machine in the back seat—and a heart full of hope—ready to chase my dreams.
My story is simple and rooted in a deep passion: to create meaningful moments for other moms and families. There’s something sacred about dressing your baby in a garment that once belonged to you—an outfit saved for years, filled with memories and love. I call these “This Was Mine” moments, and they have inspired every step of this journey. I didn’t have a detailed plan—just a vision. I started small, learning embroidery from scratch: how to design on my computer, merge files, and bring ideas to life. I built this brand from the ground up, pouring my heart into every piece, every post, and every stitch.
As my Instagram community began to grow, I was able to invest in a larger embroidery machine. That opened the door to more intricate work—and space to dream even bigger. Then, in God’s perfect timing, I was introduced to my seamstress, Angela. Her gift for heirloom sewing is truly unmatched. She is incredibly talented, and such a blessing. Together, we now offer beautifully handmade heirloom garments, crafted from the highest-quality fabrics with stunning attention to detail. Angela’s work brought my vision to life in ways I never imagined—and I thank God for placing her in my path.
The name Libby Priere carries special meaning: it’s a combination of my great-grandmother’s and my daughter’s names. Later, I discovered that “Prière” means “to pray” in French—a perfect reminder of the foundation this business was built on. Our logo features a hand-drawn portrait of my great-grandmother, created by the incredibly gifted graphic artist and friend, Angela Stewart, owner of @Whimsybyangela. Her image represents our story and our why—the passion to create pieces filled with love, designed for children to wear today and pass down tomorrow. My grandmothers’ legacy and eye for design inspire everything we create. Her silhouette on our logo is more than just a brand symbol—it’s a tribute to the women who shaped me, and the purpose that fuels this work.
And yes—both of the women who’ve played such an important role in building Libby Priere Designs are named Angela. What are the odds?
To me, it’s a beautiful reminder: God’s timing is always perfect.
Libby Priere Designs is so much more than embroidery. It’s about the memories we make with our children. The pieces we save and pass down. The legacy we create through love, craftsmanship, and faith.
We are honored to help families create their own #thiswasmine moments—for today, and for generations to come
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This journey has been so rewarding, but it definitely hasn’t come without its struggles. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced has been balancing family and work. Being an entrepreneur is an incredible gift, but it can also be hard to navigate—especially with little ones at home. It’s not always easy to turn off the “work brain,” even when I want to be fully present with my kids.
Social media and content creation have been another unexpected challenge. While I’ve absolutely loved connecting with others on Instagram—and have met so many incredible creators and small business owners—it can also feel overwhelming. I’ve had to learn the importance of taking breaks, unplugging, and setting boundaries. We weren’t made to be glued to our phones 24/7, and protecting that balance is something I’m still learning every day.
In the beginning, the learning curve was huge. I’m completely self-taught. Aside from one class with the amazing Mrs. Lynn at the Sewing and Vacuum shop in Murfreesboro, TN (highly recommend them!), everything I’ve learned has come from YouTube, trial and error, and a lot of patience. I’ve put holes in shirts, used the wrong stabilizers, and made every mistake you can think of. There were definitely moments I wanted to throw in the towel—but I’m so grateful I didn’t.
Every challenge has led to growth. And through it all, I’ve held tight to my faith and the dream God placed on my heart. This journey has shaped me, stretched me, and shown me just how much beauty can come from persistence, prayer, and passion.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Libby Priere Designs celebrates the beauty of childhood and the sacredness of memory. We specialize in children’s heirlooms, embroidery, and keepsakes—each one crafted with love and intention.
We’re especially proud of our heirloom clothing line: Libby Priere Heirloom. Every piece is handmade in the USA and created to be more than just a garment—they’re heirlooms meant to be worn, cherished, and passed down to be worn again. From sibling to sibling, mother to daughter, and generation to generation, we joyfully craft all your “This Was Mine” moments.
We also offer custom machine embroidery, including our beloved welcome baby banners, baby bow sashes, baptism keepsakes, and darling cotton or knit outfits featuring our unique embroidery designs. The baby banners, in particular, have become a signature favorite. They are such a sweet way to welcome a little one into the world. Whether displayed in the hospital, nursery, or at a baby shower, they beautifully mark the joy and wonder of new life. Every design is merged and made uniquely, becoming a meaningful keepsake for years to come.
But what I’m most proud of isn’t just the clothing or the embroidery—it’s the moments they hold:
A baby’s first trip home.
A first birthday.
A baptism.
A big sister or brother wearing the same heirloom their siblings will one day wear.
These are the stories that breathe life into Libby Priere Designs. They are the heart of everything we do.
I’m also deeply proud of staying true to my original dream and holding fast to my integrity. We don’t create based on trends – we create from the heart. Each piece is classic, delicate, and uniquely ours, inspired by my own childhood and the legacy of my grandmothers.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the garment. It’s about the legacy and love it carries – that’s what truly sets us apart.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Life is short—just go for it!
God’s timing is everything.
Don’t stress too much about the little things. Have fun, enjoy the mess, work hard, and design what feels right for you. Stay consistent, and don’t stop when things get tough—because they will. Most importantly, don’t copy others or follow the crowd. Stay true to yourself, hold integrity high and your unique light will shine through.
Whatever is on your heart—whatever dream or idea keeps tugging at you, start small and go for it. You never know how it might grow!
I’m so thankful I chased my dreams – not just for myself, but for my children. They’ve been watching me behind the scenes since day one… and to me, that means everything.
