Check Out Tori Nicole Sadler’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tori Nicole Sadler.

Hi Tori Nicole, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I believe that art enriches your lifestyle and starts a conversation. I believe it brings people together regardless of race, class, etc. From the very beginning, I have always found joy and expression through my art. Growing up with a strong foundation of family and faith, I was always told to take risks in order to succeed. I believe that this artistic gift is more about how I can help the next person rather than just myself. My journey of becoming an artist started from a very young age. Whether I was sketching on the walls of my childhood home or playing with fabrics, I knew that this was what I should be doing. In fact, once I started experimenting with said fabrics and imagining looks and outfits, I knew that being a designer was in my future. It had become evident that creating was something that I needed to do for the rest of my life. When I was just starting out, God allowed me to travel all over the world and provided me with the ability to immerse myself in the lives of fascinating people along the way. It was while traveling that I really discovered my love for language and culture. Mixing these experiences with my intrigue for textile art birthed the journey of TORI NICOLE®, where every piece of wearable art is reminiscent of these stories and experiences.

The first bag I ever made was the “Amelia” clutch in honor of my maternal great-grandmother. She was an inspiring woman with her own “Garden of Eden.” In the little town of Eden, Mississippi where she grew up, she had a large acreage of land that flourished with an abundance of fruit orchids and trees, ponds, and pecan trees. She inspired those who followed her to create something of their own that would impact those around them. I watched my grandmother joyfully tend her own garden, my father’s entrepreneurial career, my mother’s creative skill in her poetry, and grew up knowing that art and love was in our blood.

I feel deeply tied to my family and those I share my life with and include a little bit of them in everything I create. My love for style has come from who I am, not what I wear. As a mother to three amazing children, I’ve come to learn that what you create through God’s plan leaves a large impact on those around you. I intend to spread love through my art so that those who carry it with them may spread the love, too.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The joy of being an entrepreneur is based on knowledge from experience. Trying new things and learning what works and what does not, and then evolving from there. You never know what you can (or cannot do) unless you try! I am very grateful for all experiences!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Tori Nicole® designs are made for the person who will appreciate my art and all the love and labor that goes into my creations. Nothing brings me more joy in life than seeing people love their Tori Nicole® collection pieces as much as I do.

I am set apart by style and intention used to create my products. My distinguishing characteristic is my artist’s touch.

People always ask me, “Who do you name your bags after?” The truth is a lot of my bags are named after significant people that I have met throughout my life or experiences that I have had over the years. These people and experiences are all unforgettable, therefore I wanted to create something to exist in their honor that will live on forever. I love creating pieces that remind me of their stories and look like something that they would have loved. No two bags are entirely the same and not too many other brands can say that they bring their memories to life with their creations.

Tori Nicole® handbags have been featured in British Vogue, NE Local Magazine, Franklin Lifestyle, Brentwood Lifestyle, InTouch Magazine, Dark Beauty Magazine and the Phoenix. They have also been featured in various fashion events from Boston to Nashville, including runways and tradeshows, and have received many awards. They are currently available for purchase online, as well as at Very Ashley boutique in Richmond, VA.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see a rise in slow fashion, sustainable fashion, and technology/digital/virtual.
