Check Out Tyler Cole’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Cole.

Hi Tyler, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Tyler Cole and I am the lead singer and guitarist for the Philadelphia rock band Frankford Fitler. I started singing out of necessity because we were looking for someone to fill our lead singer position. During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the band and I decided to compose material for an EP.

Once venues began to re-open, we started playing this material for an audience and received a fantastic response. To perfect my vocals for the upcoming EP recording, I decided to fly out to Nashville and work hands-on with a legendary vocal coach, Ron Browning. This experience opened my eyes to a completely new way of singing and even my outlook on life.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t believe there is ever a smooth road on the path to dreams. Struggles come in all shapes and sizes but they test us to make sure we are cut out to peruse our goals. The best teacher is a failure, looking back I remember constantly having to push myself each day and night to reach the vocal range I have now.

I’m very proud of how far I’ve come but there is plenty of work that still needs to get done. A harsh reality that I realized was “Rome wasn’t built in a day” and I have to remind myself that often. Each day moves us one step closer to the goal we desire.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Our music is a very honest and straightforward approach to rock. We try to keep everything very organic and lively. We view music as much more than just sounds but also a visual and emotional experience. I would personally say I’m most proud of the image we’ve created over the past year.

We try to connect with people who have the same connection to music as we do and it’s amazing how many people we’ve met doing so. We are not trying to re-invent the wheel, rather, we choose to introduce our listeners to a sound they are familiar with yet still offer a unique and original listening experience, at least for this EP.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Keep pushing, keep pushing, and keep pushing. Never accept no for an answer. You have everything in your power to achieve your dreams as long as you put every ounce of effort in. Have no regrets.
