Check Out Tyler Gauthier’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Gauthier.

Hi Tyler , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been involved in music in some capacity since I was 11 years old. I picked up trombone in 6th grade and played through 8th grade. When I was 15 or 16, I started taking lessons for bass guitar and played all through high school. When I was 18 I became interested in DJing and production. I started dabbling with my friends’ DJ controllers and FL Studio as well as Ableton. I got my first piece of production gear that same year, which was an SP-404 SX. It’s a compact sampler that you can make beats on and perform with. Ever since then, I have produced lo-fi/abstract hip hop instrumentals on various softwares and hardwares.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Musically speaking, it has been a mostly uneventful ride. I have had some solid editorial placements on Spotify and Apple Music over the years that have helped me garner a fanbase globally. Besides that, I don’t have any accolades to speak of that are noteworthy in my opinion.

My personal struggles have impended my musical journey quite a bit, whether that be poor mental health for months at at time or legal battles. I can’t go too in depth on the latter as I am still in the midst of that.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
In my professional life, I would mostly classify myself as an A/V Technician or an Events Services Specialist, however, I have also been employed to do IT and other Digital Services for corporate events. I have worked in convention centers across the country, but I stick to working locally in Nashville for the most part now.

What are your plans for the future?
I am compiling music for a release under my main name, b l o o p r, but I am also compiling music for an alias that is in the works. It will most likely be kept secret and detached from my b l o o p r stuff. I want to work with more artists, particularly vocalists, in the very near future.
