Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Price.
Hi Tyler, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I began my coaching journey in 2017 at Black Fox Elementary in Murfreesboro, driven by a lifelong passion for sports—especially basketball. Even then, I knew I wanted to keep coaching and training athletes beyond college. After graduating from MTSU in the spring of 2018, I launched my athletic training business, Alphabets N Training, on graduation day.
Since then, I’ve spent roughly six years coaching in the AAU community alongside Coach Flowers. Our team, The Movement, has steadily grown into one of Tennessee’s standout programs, with several athletes earning collegiate scholarships.
My coaching experience extends beyond basketball. I’ve taught boxing classes, trained athletes, hosted two fight nights, and organized multiple events with Title Nash Boxing Club. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Jarrod Houston hired me, and his mentorship has been a huge influence on my training career.
Currently, I work as a group trainer at Carbon Nations, where I lead Element 6 (strength training), Hyrox, and Glute Series classes. I also spearhead the Carbon Run Club, hosting monthly and bi-monthly runs for our members.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing about success is smooth—not in fitness, not in life. It’s constant adjustments, pivots, and figuring out what works for the people you serve. I wouldn’t trade my journey, because the only way to grow is to step out on faith, make mistakes, and learn. Smooth is for the cautious. Progress is for those who take risks and bet on themselves.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a certified personal trainer and Hyrox L1 certified coach, working with clients across a wide range of disciplines. My one-on-one sessions may focus on strength and conditioning, glute-specific training, boxing skill development, basketball skill development, sports-specific training, or Hyrox preparation.
While I wouldn’t say I’m “most known for” one specific specialty, I know I’m recognized for how deeply I care about my clients and members—and I know they feel it.
What I’m most proud of is that I never gave up—on myself or on the people around me. I’ve faced many crossroads, but each time I’ve come out stronger and better. My journey has been anything but smooth, and I’m grateful for that.
What truly sets me apart is my heart for people. For me, it’s not always about the money. I’ve trained people for free, welcomed them into classes without a membership, and invited groups to join my own workouts—because it’s never just about a paycheck. The money will come. What matters most is building a community—a place where people feel seen, heard, and supported, and where they push through hard workouts together as a team.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
This has nothing to do with fitness or my journey, but I really miss when Pizza Hut had buffets. I grew up in a small town (Bolivar, TN), and we didn’t have much—but we did have that buffet to look forward to. I loved going there with my parents at lunchtime as a kid. Simple times, but some of the best memories.
