Today we’d like to introduce you to Zach Hartman
Hi Zach, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Honestly, Forever Field Day started from a simple feeling—every time I played flag football or volleyball, I’d catch myself wishing I could go back to being a kid, playing capture the flag, tug-of-war, sack races, and all those games that felt so competitive yet ridiculously fun. There’s something about those childhood games that brought out the best in people—pure energy, teamwork, and a sense of community.
That’s when it hit me: Why not bring those experiences into adulthood? But with a twist—structured competitions that still carry that nostalgic fun but with the strategy and challenge that adults crave. From there, Forever Field Day was born. What started as just a cool idea turned into something much bigger—company outings, corporate events, and team-building experiences where every activity is designed to boost morale, improve communication, and build teamwork in a way that doesn’t feel forced. It’s competition, nostalgia, and connection all wrapped into one, and watching people get as excited as I do about it has been the best part of the journey.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been completely smooth, but every challenge has been part of the fun. The biggest thing was figuring out how to take this idea—bringing back childhood games for adults—and turn it into something structured that people would get excited about. At first, I had to fine-tune the game formats, find the right locations, and make sure the events worked for both casual players and competitive teams.
Another part of the journey was showing companies that this wasn’t just about fun—it was a great way to build teamwork, boost morale, and create connections in a way that feels natural. Once people experienced it firsthand, it really clicked, and the momentum started building.
Overall, it’s been a learning process, but a rewarding one. Seeing people fully engage, laugh, and get competitive like they’re kids again has made every step worth it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve always had a passion for creating experiences that bring people together. Before launching Forever Field Day, I was already deeply involved in events—I own Take My Hand Proposals, where I help plan unique and meaningful marriage proposals, as well as intimate weddings and special events. I’ve always loved finding ways to make moments unforgettable, whether it’s for couples starting their forever or for teams coming together through friendly competition.
Beyond that, I’m also a musician, which is just another way I get to connect with people through storytelling and emotion. Whether it’s through music, proposals, or field day games, everything I do is centered around bringing people together in a meaningful way.
What sets Forever Field Day apart is that it’s not just about fun—it’s about connection. Every game is designed to build teamwork, boost morale, and give people an experience they’ll talk about long after it’s over. I’m proud of how it’s grown, and seeing people tap into that carefree, competitive, and collaborative spirit makes all the hard work worth it.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that people connect over experiences, not just events. Whether it’s planning a marriage proposal, playing music, or organizing a field day competition, the real magic happens when people are fully present and engaged. It’s not just about creating something fun or memorable—it’s about giving people a reason to connect, laugh, and share a moment that sticks with them.
I’ve also learned that adaptability is key. No matter how much you plan, things will change—weather shifts, people react differently than expected, or an idea doesn’t land the way you thought it would. But if you stay open, adjust, and keep the heart of what you’re doing in focus, things have a way of working out even better than planned.
Most of all, I’ve realized that success isn’t just about growth—it’s about impact. Seeing people light up during an event, watching a proposal come together perfectly, or hearing that one of my songs resonated with someone reminds me why I do what I do. That’s what keeps me going.
