Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Kamenca.
Hi Alex, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Carley and I (Alex) were both in early stages of our entrepreneur aspirations and still in corporate sales jobs when we met. We were both looking to acquire an existing business instead of starting one hoping for more of a fast track to leave our jobs and truly start our entrepreneur journeys. We decided to partner up as we had complimentary skill sets and taught ourselves how to find and underwrite business that were for sale and then we found Insight Home Inspection Services. The previous owner was selling the company due to starting a new venture and it had existed in Knoxville, TN for the past 12 years. We officially acquired the company in April of 2024 and with us both being local to Nashville we immediately decided to expand here. We’ve now been in Nashville for almost 2 years where we’ve been honored to help hundreds of clients with one of life’s most important purchases and we are excited to continue to grow in our community. We have great and qualified inspectors we have hired and trained here in Nashville and truly provide exceptional customer service. We are not absentee owners and I personally do all of the scheduling and run operations while Carley does the marketing and sales for the company.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been pretty much the opposite of smooth and what we expected. We’ve had a lot of hard lessons and have learned what it truly means to be a business owner but we are still very thankful to be proud owners of this company and doing the right things for our customers that trust us. Around 3 months in, the sale of the company was officially announced and we started introducing ourselves as the new owners. This created a much bigger riff than we thought it would and we lost about 80% of our revenue at that moment. With losing that revenue, we then lost both the inspectors that came with the company to go start their own because we did not have enough business to feed them. We didn’t realize how much of a relationship based business this truly was and did not expect that to happen even though we were providing exactly the same product. However, since then we have worked extremely hard to regain trust, build new relationships, and be a valued part of the community. We have had to prove our worth the hard way since then but we have been blessed to do exactly that and have rebuilt everything even better than from the start.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a full-service home inspection company top to bottom. On top of our comprehensive home inspections we include every ancillary service we possibly can to make sure our clients are completely confident in their purchase. These include Termite/Pest/WDO Inspections, Radon Testing, Sewer/Septic Scopes, Mold & Air Quality Testing, Water/Well Water Testing, Pool and Spa Inspections, Lead Based Paint Testing, Asbestos Testing, Dock Inspections, VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) Testing, and more.
Other than our actual services we offer, we think what sets us apart from others is that we go above and beyond from a personal and customer service standpoint. All of our inspectors are easy to talk to and personable which can be hard sometimes in this industry and they are also very knowledgeable and always willing to go the extra mile to talk through the report with customers and realtors. We always want to make sure every single client is satisfied and is not playing a guessing game if they should buy a house or not. We are not here to scare people out of buying a house but simply to educate them on what the issues are and even help them fix it. We only give top quality referrals as well if our clients need them and do our best to help everyone involved during the sale. We also make the scheduling process for our clients and realtors the easiest it can be for them and handle absolutely all of it ourselves. We always even talk to our customers before hand and ask if there’s anything they have concerns with before the inspection and make sure to re-address it with them over a phone call or in person when the inspection is done.

Carley is a sponsored pickleball athlete and has previously won the US Open in doubles in 2025! I (Alex) have been on TV for a game show that I came in 15th out of 100 people for and aspire to be on more competition based shows.
