Community Highlights: Meet Allison Sutliff of Boujee Baby

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allison Sutliff.

Allison, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In the midst of the pandemic, I was at home and I needed a hobby.

I always knew that I wanted to become a business owner at some point and that was something I had a passion for; however, I didn’t think at 19, I would have my own business. I love clothing, fashion, accessories, and shopping.

I have always gotten compliments on the ways I dress, so if so many people liked my ideas why wouldn’t I share? I decided an online boutique would be appropriate. In April of 2020, Boujee Baby Company came into existence.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been easy. As a business that started during a pandemic, we had to find a way to touch our audience when finances were tight.

There were also lots of scam artists trying to take advantage of my small business. We had to move our business from Murfreesboro to West Nashville. During that process, we had to temporarily close the shop.

We’ve been impressed with Boujee Baby Co, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I wanted my brand to represent women and the empowerment of women.

Everything we do is curated to make women feel confident and beautiful. We want all of our customers to feel like the best version of themselves when wearing or having any BoujeeBabyCo products.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My family and friends have been the most incredible support system!

Being an entrepreneur isn’t easy and anyone who has done it knows. Anytime I am down, they are always there to push me to keep going. I also want to shout out to my customers! I would not be able to continue to run my business without them.

As I said, some days, I didn’t want to keep going. I wasn’t getting too many orders, but then when I check the store and I see an order I remember why I started.
