Hi Angela, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey started in psychology; working in a mental hospital and even a morgue taught me more about human behavior than any textbook ever could. I learned early on how stress, communication, and environment shape the way people show up every day.
After college, I spent over two decades as a luxury wedding and event planner — designing experiences in Nashville and across the globe. From castles in Italy to private islands in the Caribbean, I built a business that looked glamorous on the outside, but behind the scenes, I was running on adrenaline, caffeine, and very little rest.
It’s often in the hardest moments that we find the most clarity. When COVID hit, it was my wake-up call. My entire business came to a standstill, and I found myself working 20-hour days just trying to save it. Years of constant stress, no movement, and poor habits caught up to me and I gained over 100 pounds and got so sick I nearly lost my life. That experience forced me to face one truth: success means nothing without wellness.
That turning point completely changed my purpose. I realized one simple thing: we must move to move forward. I invested in a treadmill desk and started walking during zoom meetings. As my energy returned, so did my clarity, and I discovered how much workplace wellness impacts performance, productivity, and culture.
Today, I help companies, executives, and teams build healthier, happier, higher-performing cultures through customized wellness programs, fun team challenges, and executive retreats. My approach goes beyond HR checkboxes; it’s about creating experiences that help people integrate real wellness into how they work and live everyday.
Rooted in psychology, my eight-pillar framework for SELF CARE helps organizations reduce burnout, boost energy, and create meaningful change that lasts. I also speak globally about the power of movement and mindset, showing leaders that when their teams move, their business moves forward too.
My goal is simple: to empower people to move, think, and live better, because when you take care of yourself, everything else falls into place.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not a smooth road; but I wouldn’t change a thing. Every setback taught me something I couldn’t have learned any other way. (I’m hardheaded, and as a neurodivergent polymath, I’ve realized I have to *experience* things to truly understand them; and to have empathy for others going through them.)
In the beginning, I worked around the clock building my event planning company from the ground up. I thought hustle meant success. For years, I kept doing more; traveling nonstop, running on adrenaline, soda, and very little sleep, until eventually, my body shut down. During COVID, I got so sick I nearly died. That experience forced me to reevaluate everything: my priorities, my health, and my purpose.
The hardest part wasn’t losing the business; it was losing myself. I had to learn that rest, movement, and mental wellness aren’t luxuries; they’re non-negotiables. I’ve lost over 130 pounds, not from a fad diet, but from walking, dancing and just moving every day, shifting my mindset, and creating boundaries around my time and energy.
Entrepreneurship is not glamorous behind the scenes. There have been moments of doubt, isolation, and complete burnout. But through all of it, I’ve learned that **alignment matters more than achievement. When you focus on being well, everything else; your relationships, creativity, and business, starts to flow. You then have the space for new a new purpose.
That’s exactly why I do what I do today: helping others avoid the mistakes I made by teaching them how to build wellness into the way they work and lead.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At the heart of everything I do is one mission: to help people and companies move, think, and live better.
I specialize in designing wellness experiences and strategies for companies, executives, and teams who want to improve their culture, communication, and performance. That can look like corporate wellness programs, team challenges, leadership retreats, or speaking at conferences around the world, but the goal is always the same: to help people GSD (Get Shit Done) without burning out in the process.
What sets me apart is that my approach is grounded in psychology and real-world experience, not theory. I’ve lived through burnout, anxiety, and physical exhaustion; and I’ve rebuilt my life through movement and mindset. Because of that, everything I teach is practical, actionable, and human. It’s not about yoga mats in the break room or another “wellness Wednesday” it’s about helping people create sustainable habits that improve both their personal and professional lives.
I’m most proud that my work has helped leaders rethink what productivity and success look like. Seeing teams light up with more energy, better communication, and renewed purpose reminds me why this work matters.
Whether it’s through a corporate retreat, a speaking engagement, or a customized wellness challenge, my mission is to help people remember that when they take care of themselves, everything else — their business, their relationships, their creativity — falls into place.
What are your plans for the future?
I’m really excited about what’s ahead. My focus is on expanding how we bring wellness into the workplace; not as a perk, but as a foundation for performance and culture. We’re continuing to grow our corporate wellness consulting and retreat programs, helping companies design experiences that recharge their teams, build connection, and boost long-term productivity.
I’m also developing more global wellness experiences that combine travel, movement, and mindset, because getting people out of their everyday environment often sparks the biggest breakthroughs. I’ll be hosting more wellness retreats, speaking on international stages, and collaborating with incredible partners who share the same mission of helping people live and work better.
Another big focus for the future is community, wellness events, bringing people together through initiatives like movement and sleep.
Overall, my goal is to continue creating spaces, whether at work, on a retreat, or online; where people can slow down, realign, and find balance between success and self-care. Because when people feel well, they lead well.
