Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Wolak.
Hi Anna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The first time I started doing hair, I was 14 years old. My mom is a wonderful hairstylist, and I always looked up to her. I worked at a fabulous salon in California, and when I moved to Tennessee, I wanted to find something similar. Even though there were so many beautiful places here, I had such a strong urge to open my own space and create the dream salon I had always imagined, a place I would want to work every day. Now I have my very own 12 chair booth rental salon in Franklin, and I absolutely adore it. I can’t say enough good things about this town. Everyone is so kind, and we have the most special and kind team ever.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the very beginning, I actually had a contractor shut his binder on me and completely walk out. I think he saw that I was a young girl and doubted my vision. But even with that, I knew I had the passion and determination to turn the space into something great, and I never gave up or doubted myself once. Not long after that, I ended up finding an even better contractor who truly believed in my vision and guided me through every step of the process. We had to completely redo the entire building from top to bottom. There wasn’t a single part left untouched, down to the electrical and everything in between. It definitely wasn’t easy. From start to finish, it took exactly a year, ending in October 2025. We faced so many challenges along the way, from two TVs arriving broken in a row to what felt like almost everything we ordered showing up cracked or damaged. But through it all, I truly believe God had a plan. In the end, everything came together perfectly. Every setback happened for a reason, and when opening day finally came, it turned out even better than I could have ever imagined.
We’ve been impressed with Capri salon , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We’re a booth rental salon, which means all of the hairstylists here are independent contractors who run their own businesses. Each stylist sets their own hours, prices, and services while renting their station inside the salon. I wanted to create a space where everyone has the freedom to build their own brand and grow their business, but still feels part of a supportive and uplifting team. It’s the best of both worlds because you get to be your own boss while being surrounded by other passionate artists who inspire and cheer each other on every day.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I feel like what led to my success is that I always believed in myself. No matter what challenges came my way, I knew things would turn out great because I put 110 percent into everything I do. When you’re truly passionate about your job, it becomes easy to show up every day and give it your all. There were so many twelve-hour days in a row while I was working to open the salon, but even through the exhaustion, I still had so much fun with my clients. What really made the difference was having such a supportive family who always had my back. My mom has been such an inspiration, and my dad was always just a call away to help fix anything. Most importantly, I give all the glory to God. Even during the hardest times, I felt so much joy knowing He was guiding every step.
