Community Highlights: Meet Brittany Hamilton of Brittany Events Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Hamilton.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was working for a ministry in Florida where one of my roles ended up being a conference coordinator. The first conference I helped plan hosted over 700 attendees and I remember the rush, the excitement and being absolutely exhausted but overwhelmingly fulfilled at the end. Over the next three years, I continued to manage the event coordination as our conferences grew by the thousands, with the addition of statewide conferences. I eventually felt a move to Nashville was in order and after being here for a year, I started working in a bridal shop and planning what it would look like to get back into the event world. I started my event coordinating business in 2018 and it’s been growing steadily ever since! Despite 2020, we are still looking for more team members, planning expansion and welcoming more and more clients as we move forward. I currently work with weddings and nonprofits but have my eyes set on even more industries!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
At the beginning of starting my business I was working four jobs, living with four roommates and living mostly on a quarter tank of gas…. so what most entrepreneurs would call easy.

I struggled to get leads for my first year and definitely had moments when I wondered if I would get out of survival mode. One of the bigger challenges I had faced at the beginning and even still face now is the phrase, “You have to say no to somethings, so you can yes to the right things…” in growing this business it required more sacrifices than I initially anticipated; however, the immense good that has come out of it vastly outweighs anything sacrificed.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Brittany Events Co. is an event coordinating company that is based out of East Nashville and services Tennessee and beyond. We are known for full service, month- of coordinating and day- of coordinating; our goal is to give our clients the experience of not only an amazing event we are able to enjoy the process… Most of our reviews reflect that are all in with our clients and will give all of our attention for their best day. We are a brand that is most proud of our personalized exceptional customer service we give to each client, and their day of dreams comes to life regardless of budget.

I would like our perspective clients to know that the importance of hiring a wedding planner is that you can have a stress-free experience during your event day. We work within a variety of budgets, our large variety of services are not only for weddings but a variety of industries in including nonprofits and other private events.

How do you think about luck?
I have been very fortunate to have the most supportive family, friends and community. When I announced my business was launching, I had an uproar of support along with my name being passed around. My siblings constantly share my social media posts and my friends tell their family members and friends about Brittany Events Co. When it comes to luck, I really would not be where I am as a business owner without the solid support system. My first few weddings were because a friend told her co-worker, who was stressed in their wedding plans about me and I was able to give them peace. My second booking was a sister of a friend and from there on out – it’s been many new friends and word of mouth bookings. I’m very grateful to have the people I have.
