Hi Catherine, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
In 2002, after graduating from Morgan State University, I began my entrepreneurship journey. Driven by my passion for community development, I founded a 501(c)(3) organization to mentor youth in the community. As I became more involved, community leaders approached me for assistance with strategic planning. This experience not only allowed me to make a difference in the lives of young people but also to contribute to the growth and development of the community as a whole. In 2007, I started my consulting business, which helps both for-profit and non-profit organizations. My main focus is on strategic planning and organizational development. I organize and lead business meetings and conferences to help clients achieve their goals.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, building a business is like a roller-coaster ride but it is worth it. Building a business is about leaving a legacy to the next generation. Yes, I have faced struggles in building a business in regard to getting clear on my niche and service delivery.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
It is important to listen to our instincts and have confidence in our own vision, even if others may not understand it. We should not let anyone discourage us from pursuing our goals and dreams, even if they cannot see things from our perspective. Trusting our instincts can lead us down the right path and help us achieve success in our endeavors. It is crucial to stay true to ourselves and have faith in our abilities, even when faced with doubt from others. By following our instincts and staying true to our vision, we can overcome obstacles and reach our full potential.
