Community Highlights: Meet Christopher Bevans of Tischoo Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Bevans

Christopher, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Christopher Bevans, founder and CEO of Tischoo Company, a toilet paper brand I started during the pandemic amidst the widespread shortages. What led me to start my own company was the inspiration I felt after moving to Nashville, TN. Originally from Chattanooga, TN, I’ve been in Nashville since the age of 15, where I went on to finish high school.

Before starting my company, I worked in various fields, including warehousing, caregiving, operating forklifts, and even working as an electrician. But I knew there was more to life, and I wanted to push beyond the status quo. I thrive on ambition, believing that success isn’t something external it’s within you. Who I am has always been inside me; I just had to bring it out.

Through creative thinking, I founded my toilet paper brand and pursued other business ventures, such as starting a trucking company and writing children’s books for kids with autism. I’ve realized there are no limits to the potential we place on ourselves. As Henry Ford once said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right.”

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The obstacles and challenges I faced on my journey to becoming a business owner were intimidating. You start to become someone you don’t even recognize, and all these thoughts begin swirling in your head, like, “What am I doing? Am I really ready for this? How did I even get here?” These are some of the questions you ask yourself. I know many people have a fear of failure, and some won’t even start because of it. However, those challenges and obstacles never fully stopped me. I kept pushing forward, continuing to grow into the person I am today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business is a toilet paper brand, and I’m really proud of it because I’m the first minority in my city and state to start a venture in the paper industry. It’s not an industry many people think about getting into, nor do they realize how lucrative it can be. But I didn’t create this brand just for the money. I created it as an example to others that whatever the mind believes, it can achieve. I want this brand to set a new standard in my community, inspiring those who may think small to start thinking big.

We currently offer toilet paper and will soon be adding paper towels to our collection. We provide bulk purchases, retail options, and online sales.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned on my journey as a business owner is to never stop learning. Find a mentor, read books, attend conferences, make connections, and study your industry. Most importantly, look to hire others to help with your operations. It’s like building a house you can’t do it alone. You need to hire people with expertise in the necessary skills to bring everything together successfully.
