Today we’d like to introduce you to Cleve Gordon.

Hi Cleve, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, especially into my formative years, there was always an enthusiasm for cool shades. After dropping some hard-earned coin on a nice pair of sunglasses, they quickly found their way into the Gulf of Mexico. During this time, ‘said’ brand of sunglasses was acquired by a large corp and subsequently any level of service to help the issue rapidly declined.

We thought, there has to be another way… thoughts went outside the box… Breakline was formed. A brand built to offer high-quality sunglasses with the expected service and support we deserve along with it. Hard work led to the procurement of frame and lens manufacturers in Italy. The product was introduced to the market, and here we are 6+ years later since I left the day job to go full-time with Breakline.

What you’ll find now, is a community, family if you will, of positive people wearing Breaklines and sharing the stories of their adventures and experiences. It’s way cool to see a vision like this hold and come to fruition. I never thought the old adage “find something you love to do and you’ll never work a day in your life” would apply to me, but I find myself working harder each and every day and loving every second of it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As with most startups, Breakline encountered obstacles along the way. From shipping delays to the uncertainties of unchartered waters, you just roll up the sleeves and handle it. There’s always a solution sometimes you simply have to look harder for it.
