Community Highlights: Meet Csilla Muscan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Csilla Muscan.

Hi Csilla, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born and raised in a third-world country under an extremely oppressive communist regime. My family and I were living in a constant state of fear, on a daily basis.

I wish I could tell you that my feeling unsafe was lessened by the protection of a loving home… that was not the case. I was brought up in a highly dysfunctional and abusive home where explosive anger was a normal way of communication.

It is no surprise that by the time I entered my teenage years, I was swallowed up by feelings of insecurity. I felt completely invisible, unwanted, and paralyzed by fear. Because of this, I was shy and very reserved around people. The good news: I developed a unique superpower!

I became exceptionally good at observing and reading people! Watching the way they communicated. Their body language. The way they expressed themselves. What worked and what didn’t. I started to study outstanding public communicators and performers at a very young age. This brings me to the second good news.

I became so fascinated with the study of effective communication that I immersed myself in this field completely. Many times unknowingly because to me this was play, not work! Which led me to become an exceptional speaker as well as help others become world-class presenters through their voices and body.

Before starting my own consulting business, I spent 15 years as a performing artist and keynote speaker, learning the art of exceptional communication. During that time, I presented on more stages than I can count, delivering over 1,000 presentations to audiences ranging from 5 to 3,000.

Today with the help of my amazing team I teach rising entrepreneurs, personal brands, and expert-based business owners

  1. How to craft a magnetic brand message that connects.
  2. How to get in front of the right audiences with their message.
  3. How to present their message in a way that attracts more clients.
  4. How to use “stages” to scale their business & authority.

All through the power of captivating presentation and exceptional speaking skills!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My story and journey aren’t an overnight success story by any means. In my first 3 years of business, I wasn’t profitable, at all. I bought a bunch of programs. Tried to copy what all the “big gurus” were doing. (hint: most strategies didn’t work for me).

Dumped a bunch of money in FB ads. (that didn’t work either). In 2018, I created and launched my first course… and it flopped! At the end of 2018, I seriously considered walking away from my business because I thought to myself “this is so hard, so it must not be the right thing for me.”

I’m so glad I didn’t because, in 2019, I started seeing great success and results.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Speak To Scale?
I’m Csilla (Cheela), Founder of Speak To Scale. I’m a strong coffee addict, bookworm, avid runner, potential encourager & unlikely speaker, and coach.

I’m a speaking coach & marketing strategist who has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs through my paid programs to become a more confident, dynamic, and compelling speakers.

Early on in my career, I realized the power of the stage. How you communicate your vision and message MATTERS. I hate to see highly-skilled entrepreneurs struggling with growing a sustainable business just because they haven’t been able to craft and deliver their standout message effectively in front of an audience.

My mission is to help change that!

I’m most passionate about working with female lead businesses and brands by helping them:

>> Find and embrace their unique, brave, and real brand voice.
>> Develop the confidence and competence they need to share their standout message and voice in front of an audience with conviction.
>> Command any stage.
>> Develop the skills and the mindset of a visionary leader that doesn’t shy away from the spotlight but accepts the challenge of leading people well.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Resilience! Because of my upbringing and having had to face a lot of challenges in life, I learned to never give up. Which I believe is one of the most needed qualities for being an entrepreneur.

Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. It tests every fiber of our being; it cracks open and reveals every weakness, mindset block, and trauma stored inside of us.

We are faced with new sets of challenges daily that scream in our faces, “HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?”
And when you are knocked down over and over again, you’ve got to find the strength to keep dusting yourself off just ONE MORE TIME, stand up once again and keep going.

So, yes, resilience is a must for success.
