Community Highlights: Meet Daniel Morris of Cultivate Church Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Morris.

Hi Daniel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Cultivate Church began in the most simple way possible — a Saturday evening Bible study and worship gathering in a home in College Grove. Within a few months, walls were literally coming down, mission trips were being planned, and momentum was building toward a public launch.
On November 3, 2019, we held our first Sunday service. Over 75 people gathered, and four were baptized that morning. It was clear God was doing something special.
When COVID disrupted the world just months later, it didn’t slow the mission. We gathered on Zoom — and continued to grow. In May 2020, we held our first in-person service back from COVID, outdoors, and baptized five more people. In June, we officially signed our constitution and charter. By July, we were renting our first facility in Cool Springs.
Growth continued steadily. In November 2021, we moved into a larger space in Cool Springs to accommodate what God was doing. In those years, we saw people saved, set free, and deeply rooted in their faith.
Over the next four years, Cultivate hosted four missions conferences with both local and international partners. Eleven teams were sent to six countries across four continents, carrying the hope and love of Christ to the nations.
In December 2025, we stepped out in faith once again and relocated into a permanent facility in the heart of Nolensville. Today, Cultivate remains deeply missional, committed to serving our community and advancing the Gospel wherever God opens doors.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Anything worthwhile — especially anything Kingdom-minded — is never built without a price.
Cultivate Church has been deeply blessed, but those blessings have not come without challenges. For six years, we were a full set-up and tear-down church. Every Sunday morning, teams arrived early to build a church from scratch — sound, stage, chairs, classrooms, nursery, welcome center, coffee station — all of it. And at the end of the day, we packed it all back into trailers and storage.
That season required commitment.
As with many church plants, there were well-wishers and there were wanderers. Many people love the idea of something new and fresh, but fewer are willing to shoulder the weight required to build it. We didn’t have — and still don’t have — every program or ministry that some may expect. Those things require calling, leaders, resources, space, and time. When you’re building from the ground up with limited space and resources, some things simply have to wait.
Another reality of a young church is learning to navigate voices. There are always those who want to shape the vision or redefine the culture. Leading through that — while still loving people well — takes discernment and strength, especially when every person matters.
For nearly three years, we searched for a permanent facility. At times, we didn’t understand the delay. But when God finally opened the door and we relocated to Nolensville, it became clear that His timing was not late — it was precise.
Looking back, we are humbled. What felt like delay was preparation. What felt like pressure was formation. And what felt uncertain has proven to be His perfect provision.
We are grateful. And we are stronger because of it.

We’ve been impressed with Cultivate Church Nashville, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Cultivate Church began as a simple in-home Bible study and has grown into a deeply missional church rooted in Nolensville, Tennessee. From the beginning, our focus has been spiritual formation, courageous obedience to Scripture, and building people who live their faith beyond Sunday. We are known for strong biblical teaching, Spirit-led worship, leadership development, and a culture that challenges people to grow rather than coast.
What sets Cultivate apart is that we built it from the ground up. For six years, we were a mobile, set-up-and-tear-down church. That season shaped us. We value grit, ownership, and authentic community over performance and polish. We may not offer every program, but we are deeply committed to discipleship and mission. We’ve hosted multiple missions conferences and sent teams across four continents, and we remain highly focused on advancing the Gospel locally and globally.
In addition to serving as Lead Pastor of Cultivate, I am the Associate Executive Director of Global Missions 365, where I help strengthen mission strategy, leadership alignment, and organizational effectiveness in advancing global outreach.
I also lead 1400co., a leadership and design consulting firm that works with churches and marketplace organizations. We specialize in leadership clarity, culture alignment, organizational development, and design solutions that bring vision into reality. What sets 1400co. apart is that our work is built from lived experience. I’ve served in churches of every size, planted from the ground up, led through growth and adversity, and understand what it takes to build with limited resources while maintaining vision integrity.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that everything we build — whether through Cultivate, Global Missions 365, or 1400co. — is anchored in integrity, clarity, and courage. We don’t chase trends. We build foundations. We believe healthy culture and effective leadership are intentional, not accidental.
At the core, my work is about helping people and organizations become who they are called to be — spiritually grounded, strategically aligned, and built to last.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I’m a fan of Oswald Chamber’s works, and currently I follow Jefferson Fisher’s posts and podcast regarding how to communicate effectively.
