Today we’d like to introduce you to Dannielle Graves.
Hi Dannielle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Looking back, my childhood was a perfect representation of what would become my present. I am a Native American who grew up with parents in Eastern Kentucky and Napa Valley, California. I enjoyed representing the bicoastal cultures using my courage to be authentic and speak publicly, no matter the audience or platform. I’ve always embraced my sense of adventure and started my career by asking the Army to start my career in Mannheim, Germany. There isn’t a country in Europe that I didn’t travel to!
I later stepped into the civilian world and graduated from Austin Peay with my Master’s in Communication and became interested in Real Estate. The two paired well and have made me the Realtor, Real Estate investor, and aspiring Law student that I am today.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I am blessed and I am thankful to God, my parents, and my husband for all their support. My life has been infused with the most beautiful moments, but I doubt I’d be as educated, empathetic, and brave enough to always work harder and dream bigger if it weren’t for the struggles along my way. My first obstacle was for me to find a way to pay for college. I learned the Army could help me with that, but that path wasn’t always smooth. I spent two years in Iraq as a truck driver, dodging roadside bombs, but always kept the faith that all hard work is rewarded. I wanted to start a family as much as I wanted to earn an education. I could never lie and say balancing a full-time job, a full school schedule and three kids was easy, but feeling their little arms wrapped around my graduation gown made it all worthwhile.
I’ve always kept a grateful attitude towards the rocky moments that teach me how uncomfortable feels, that stirs my creativity to find a way out.
