Community Highlights: Meet Debbie Morlock of Rocki Roadz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Debbie Morlock.

Hi Debbie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Like many of your readers, I have been down quite a few “rocky roads” in my lifetime. During the summer of 2021, I was having some medical issues that ultimately led to me losing my job in Corporate America. Then, I got COVID and have never been sicker.

As I lay there day after day wondering if I would be one of the statistics or one of the luckier ones, I began reflecting on my life and which direction I needed to go in order to move forward in a positive manner. The more I pondered, the more I kept telling myself that “rocky roads” are what is familiar to me, so… why would I change that (I have always been stubborn according to my dad).

I quickly came to the realization that I had just been traveling those roads in the wrong manner. I had been traveling as a passenger, letting life take me wherever it chose. After a lot of thought and consideration, I decided that I was going to continue down the rocky roads; however, this time, I would be traveling behind the wheel (literally, and pulling a fifth-wheel camper).

This is my journey. This is my dream. I know that there will be some bumps along the way, but those “rocky roads” have now become “rocki roadz.” Just as I took control of my destiny, I also took control of the spelling and decided to go with something positive, fun & whimsical.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
If life were a smooth road, I wouldn’t be doing it right; hence the reason for the name Rocki Roadz. The biggest challenges I have faced have been web design and time.

My background is in business development/marketing and I am not ashamed to admit that I am tech challenged. I sometimes have to take a deep breath, walk away for a few minutes (or hours), and remind myself that I can do anything that I want to do (after all, I do pull a 39 ft. fifth wheel with a dual pickup truck, by myself).

Another challenge for me is finding the time to work on my website when I really want to be enjoying the beautiful sights that this country has to offer. I believe that I have finally found the perfect balance and am so excited to see where this adventure takes us next.

We have done an extensive research to find the must-have products for camping, hiking, biking, kayaking, etc. We then sought out manufacturers that could supply us with quality merchandise that will meet your adventurous needs for many years to come. PHOTOGRAPHY: During your adventures, allow me to capture your vacation memories for you. I am a natural light photographer specializing in outdoor/vacation photos.
