Community Highlights: Meet Deeannah Seymour of pH-D Feminine Health

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deeannah Seymour.

Deeannah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I founded pH-D Feminine Health to provide trustworthy feminine care products to women who struggle with vaginal odor. The idea came in 2014 after an antibiotic regimen threw off my own feminine pH.

When I looked for solutions, I was unsatisfied with the expensive, inconvenient, and ineffective products on the market at the time. With years of pharmaceutical experience, I set out to create a holistic, accessible product for women dealing with vaginal odor.

There were hundreds of clinical studies on the use of boric acid vaginal suppositories, but an affordable and convenient solution wasn’t available to many women, like me, who struggled for years.

So, I partnered with the highly respected holistic care company Vireo Systems and pH-D was born. Today, pH-D has helped millions of women while becoming one of the top-selling feminine hygiene brands.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Early on, an issue with our main retailer caused a significant loss in revenue and we took a tough hit financially due to this. In the midst of that difficulty, I was often bombarded with negative thoughts and self-doubt that challenged my confidence as a leader. It felt like an emotional roller coaster.

Experiencing the tremendous highs and lows during this time taught me how to control that inner critic, develop greater self-confidence and maintain balance. All of these characteristics have been instrumental in the years following.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Our mission is to provide women holistically, accessible, affordable, doctor-recommended solutions for vaginal odor.

Who else deserves credit – have you had mentors, supporters, cheerleaders, advocates, clients, or teammates that have played a big role in your success or the success of the business? If so – who are they and what role did they plan how did they help?

Mark Faulkner of Vireo Systems was an immeasurable help in getting pH-D Feminine Health off the ground and as a Co-Founder. Having a great business partner who I am aligned with has been a huge part of my success. He has been an entrepreneur for many years and has great insight when it comes to product development, manufacturing, leadership, and navigating the pitfalls of running a business.

I also make it a point to hire people smarter than me – and I am so grateful for everyone on my team. There are so many areas of the business in which I am by no means an expert and having really capable and intelligent people on my team has contributed greatly to my success. Doing this makes it easier for me to let go of certain tasks and allows me to focus on long-term growth.
