Community Highlights: Meet Erin Sevigny of Franklin Skin Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Sevigny.

Erin Sevigny

Erin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Originally from Birmingham, AL, it all started over 13 years ago when I began a career in Dermatology.

I was more on the clinical side of things but always enjoyed being more hands-on and learning all the different things involved from skin cancer, acne, skin rashes, and cosmetics to surgeries. I always wanted to start my studio and continue to grow and help those in my community.

I moved to Tennessee a little over 3 years ago after meeting my husband. I continued to work in dermatology offices for a couple of years but with help from my husband decided to pursue what I have always wanted, opening my skin studio.

We found the cutest, historic house in downtown Franklin. I love to be able to grow, connect, and help others with restoring their beauty. My goal is to have my clients leave here feeling like they gained a friend and to gain the knowledge they need for their skincare goals.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting and running a business is never the smoothest road but it is always worth it.

I started my business last January but didn’t open my books until the end of March, it is hard to gain clients for skin-related treatments during the summer. For me, it is a lot of word of mouth, so filling my books has been the hardest part.

We’ve been impressed with Franklin Skin Studio, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a licensed aesthetician and owner of Franklin Skin Studio. I specialize in Glo2facials, dermaplane, chemical peels, acne treatments, and microneedling. I feel like what sets me apart from others is my background in dermatology and knowing what is best for people’s skin. Also, my location is a historic house and I love to bring the charm and small-town feel.

I have the Glo2facial, which is a newer treatment on the market that has amazing technology. Most people have heard of hydrafacial but when doing my research and finding the Glo2facial I knew it would be a better fit and bring better results. I carry skin care lines that can help with acne, aging, or preventative concerns.

I carry Face Reality, IS Clinical, and Hydrinity. I am looking forward to growing Franklin Skin Studio and adding on treatments and other skin care lines. I want to only bring on treatments and products that have the science and results backing it all up.

Networking and finding a mentor can have a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
