Community Highlights: Meet Heather Lehrman of Nash Pink Ride

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Lehrman.

Heather Lehrman

Hi Heather, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I left Long Island, NY with my car full of clothes and moved to Nashville on June 1st, 2022. No, I’m not a musician lol I just needed a fresh start in a new city. I owned a Pet Services Franchise in Long Island for 8 years until the Pandemic hit. New York was shut down and no one needed pet care. I sold the business, but my love of dogs will always be a part of me. People asked, “Will you start the same business in Nashville?” I knew the answer was no. I needed to do something different.

“It’s called Nash Vegas,” Everyone said, “We are the bachelorette capital of the world.” Yes, I noticed down on Broadway where there’s pink and glitter everywhere. I also noticed that there were always crowds of people waiting for rideshares after concerts. I had a brainstorm. “A pink glittery car transportation service” but it didn’t stop there. As a woman, I never felt comfortable getting into an Uber alone, and it turns out. Tons of women feel the same way. I took my idea one step further.

I’ll gear my business towards women, so they feel safe too! Nash Pink Ride, LLC was formed when I received my “Livery permit” on 7/29/2023.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I had to come up with seed money to start the business. Commercial insurance and car wrapping (must be pink), costs a lot of money.

I tried getting small grants and started a GoFundMe, but I didn’t get a grant or make much with the GoFundMe campaign. I used my savings. New businesses are always risky. I had to go with my gut and just go for it.

We’ve been impressed with Nash Pink Ride, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

All rides need to be booked in advance.

This is a Livery service like a limo service which means payment is also due at booking. Just go to www.nashpinkride.com to fill out a ride request and you will get a price quote within 24 hours. Bookings can be as far in advance as 6 months but no less than 48 hours’ notice. If you have a trip planned 2 months from now, you can book your airport rides now.

Nash Pink Ride services the Metro-Nashville area and surrounding towns within 30 miles. We will be adding more locations as we grow. Even though I am doing the rides myself in the beginning, I plan on having drivers soon. I have a referral system with other ladies for now.

Customers love the bright pink SUV. You cannot miss me when you come out of the airport, to a concert, show, restaurant, store, etc. This bright pink vehicle STANDS OUT! I love it when people see that the inside is pink too!

You can check out the Nash Pink Ride Google reviews and see what people are saying. Follow the Nash Pink Ride Facebook and Instagram pages and see who’s riding with me.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My advice for anyone who wants to start a business is to network with other business leaders and ask questions! Research everything there is to learn about the business.

See if you can spend a day with someone in the business or even work for them. I ask questions all of the time to my peers that do what I do. People are happy to help most of the time. Don’t be afraid to ask someone to be your mentor.
