Community Highlights: Meet Jeff Caldwell of Yellow Brick Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Caldwell.

Hi Jeff, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been a Personal trainer going on 18 years, I started in Hollywood, CA training entertainment industry type clients. I obtained my certification through college in AZ while working on my prerequisite credits for Chiropractic college in Los Angeles, which I ended up ceasing after 2 years once I realized the fitness industry was my main passion. There I also spent time fitness modeling, commercial acting & began writing my own fitness children’s book that came out on Amazon self published in 2015. “Kid Fitness with Phillip & Natalie.” I moved to UT in 2013 to marry my wife and start a family, we now have 3 children under 8. We moved back to SoCal, north of LA to Santa Clarita in 2019. In June of 2023 we moved over here to White House area where I continued my PT passions/work as a director of PT for a local gym. I was sadly let go on Black Friday of last year for doing too good of a job…to scramble, I set out with my wife to open up our own gym! We officially opened up here on March 1st! We offer group training, which is hiit style strength/circuit training, infused with CrossFit type exercises as well as a host of other functional exercises aimed to build human athletes & create hybrid athletes. Our gym has an infrared sauna, cold tub, cables, dumbbells, barbells, bumper plates, kettlebells, med balls, rowers, curved treadmills, and other fun toys for getting strong, fit & confident! We also have a basketball hoop, pitching machine for rent, personal training & athletic training!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being let go of my last position was a huge let down but we ultimately see how it was for our benefit to start our own business that has allowed us to dream bigger & aim higher! We originally were not approved to be in the zoning of Millersville as it is zoned heavy commercial but we were able to get conditional approval based on our athletic training facilities & offerings. We are not a typical gym or fitness center as we have an industrial feel that accompanies most CrossFit style gyms.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
An additional thing that sets me apart as a trainer is that I built my own fitness app in 2021 during the pandemic era, so I have that to offer all of my members & clients. We are the only CrossFit style gym or hybrid gym in the area. Our group strength training workouts are also setting us apart as the best place to get strong in a group setting with all the fun, new, nice equipment that we offer, along with the sauna & cold tub privileges. We specialize in Athletic training, group training & personal training. When people start here we want them to feel like they’re on the right/best path to achieve their health & fitness goals. Similar to the Wizard of Oz characters feeling like they’re were on the right path whenever they were following the “yellow brick road”.

What are your plans for the future?
We plan to be here for a total of 3 years with the hope to expand from 3000 square feet to an additional 1500 sf OR build our own new building and expand into a 30-90k sf industrial type building where we can create more space for the athletic training facilities as well as our health/fitness/wellness side of things. We hope to have multiple indoor & outdoor batting cages, full sized basketball court, many new exercise machines, turf for football, soccer, etc. We hope to become the fitness Mecca of Nashville area!
