Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennette Price.

Hi Jennette , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Meet Jennette Price

Founder and Owner of Ti’Maya Naturals Studio | The Herbal Loctician

Jennette Price is the proud owner and founder of Ti’Maya Naturals Studio, a beauty and wellness business specializing in natural hair care, locs, coils, twists, and textured hair. With a passion for healthy hair, skin care, education, and community service, Jennette has built a brand dedicated to helping individuals embrace their natural beauty with confidence.

Jennette entered the beauty industry in 2006 and quickly discovered that healthy hair care was more than a profession—it was her passion and purpose. After gaining extensive experience working with natural hairstyles and hair care products, she recognized an opportunity to provide products specifically designed to nourish the scalp and promote healthy-looking hair. In 2010, combining her knowledge of the beauty industry with her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, she launched her own product line, Ti’Maya Naturals.

Named in honor of her children, Ti’Maya Naturals was created to celebrate natural beauty while providing hair care solutions for locs, coils, twists, and other natural hairstyles. The brand later expanded to include a men’s grooming line designed to help men maintain healthy-looking, well-groomed beards. Jennette also developed a product intended to address skin concerns, reflecting her personal commitment to helping others feel comfortable and confident in their own skin.

Jennette’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience, determination, and faith. Born deaf and blind, she faced significant challenges growing up in a difficult group-home environment. As a single mother of two, she refused to let her circumstances define her future. Instead, she transformed adversity into motivation, determined to build a successful business, inspire others, and leave a meaningful legacy for her children.

In 2021, Jennette attended esthetician school to further expand her knowledge and services. After completing her training, she expanded Ti’Maya Naturals Studio even further by adding professional esthetic services under the inspiring message “Unlock the Skin Within.” This expansion allowed her to bring her passion for beauty and self-care beyond hair and into skin care, offering clients a more comprehensive beauty and wellness experience.

In addition to being an entrepreneur, Jennette is a licensed cosmetologist, natural hair specialist, esthetician, and instructor. She develops natural hair training plans, educates students, and teaches beauty techniques that empower others with practical skills and industry knowledge.

Affectionately known throughout the beauty industry as “The Herbal Loctician,” Jennette is recognized for her dedication to natural hair education, healthy beauty practices, skin care, and helping clients embrace their individuality.

For Jennette, however, success is about much more than business. Service is her calling. She gives back to her community by supporting children in need, assisting individuals experiencing homelessness, and visiting residents in nursing and rest homes. Through her generous spirit, uplifting personality, and genuine love for people, she strives to make a positive difference in every life she touches.

Her mission is simple yet powerful: to leave people better than she found them. Whether she is teaching a student, serving a client, developing a product, providing hair care or esthetic services, or giving back to her community, Jennette wants everyone she encounters to feel valued, beautiful, empowered, and confident.

From overcoming adversity to becoming an award-recognized beauty professional, educator, esthetician, and business owner, Jennette Price continues to prove that limitations do not have to determine one’s destiny.

Ti’Maya Naturals Studio is more than a salon. It is a place where natural beauty is celebrated, confidence is restored, knowledge is shared, skin and hair are cared for, and legacies are built.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Obstacles and Challenges: Has It Been a Smooth Road?

No, the road has not always been smooth. Since entering the natural hair care industry in 2006, my journey has been filled with challenges, lessons, and moments that tested my faith, patience, and determination. Building a business in an industry that is constantly evolving has required me to remain committed to my vision, continue educating myself, and find ways to stand out while staying true to my purpose.

One of my biggest challenges has been overcoming the obstacles that come with being an entrepreneur, from building a clientele and establishing my brand to balancing the responsibilities of business, family, and personal growth. There have been times when I had to step out of my comfort zone, make difficult decisions, and keep pushing forward even when the journey became overwhelming.

However, I refused to allow those challenges to define me or determine my future. Instead, I used them as opportunities to grow, learn, and become stronger. My faith in God has been instrumental in helping me persevere, and my passion for healthy natural hair has continued to remind me why I started.

Every obstacle has helped shape me into the woman, educator, and business owner I am today. My journey has taught me that success is not about having a perfect path; it is about remaining faithful to your vision, being willing to learn, and having the courage to keep going when things get difficult.

Today, through Ti’Maya Naturals Studio, I am proud of how far I have come. I understand that the journey is still unfolding, and I look forward to continuing to grow, educate, inspire, and make a difference in the natural hair care community. My challenges did not stop me; they helped prepare me for the purpose God placed on my life.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
About Ti’Maya Naturals Studio

Ti’Maya Naturals Studio is a natural hair care business founded on passion, education, healthy hair practices, and a commitment to serving the natural hair community. Since entering the hair care industry in 2006, I have dedicated myself to helping individuals embrace, care for, and celebrate the beauty of their natural hair. In 2010, I took my passion a step further by establishing my brand and creating a space where healthy hair care, education, and creativity come together.

We specialize in natural hair care services, including locs, coils, twists, and other natural styles. Beyond providing services, I am passionate about educating clients and future professionals on proper hair care, maintaining healthy hair, and understanding the beauty and versatility of natural textures. As a natural hair instructor and specialist, I believe knowledge is just as important as the service itself.

What sets Ti’Maya Naturals Studio apart is that we offer more than hairstyling—we provide education, empowerment, and an experience centered on healthy hair and individuality. Every client has a unique hair journey, and I believe in helping each person feel confident, beautiful, and comfortable embracing who they are. My background in natural hair care, product knowledge, professional education, and business development allows me to serve my clients with both skill and purpose.

One of the things I am most proud of is the growth and recognition of my brand. Being recognized for my work, earning industry awards, and being named among the Top Three beauty salons are accomplishments that remind me that dedication, consistency, and faith can open doors. I am also proud of the opportunities I have had to share my knowledge through teaching and to inspire others who want to pursue their own paths in the beauty industry.

My vision for Ti’Maya Naturals Studio extends beyond the salon chair. I want to continue educating, mentoring, and creating opportunities for others while helping change the way people view and care for natural hair. I want readers to know that Ti’Maya Naturals Studio represents more than a business—it represents purpose, perseverance, confidence, and the beauty of embracing your natural self. My goal is to leave a lasting impact on the beauty industry by empowering people through healthy hair care, education, and the confidence to wear their natural beauty proudly.
