Today we’d like to introduce you to Joielle Withers.
Hi Joielle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Well I started in Chicago. Born & raised. What really inspired me to begin cooking was my grandmothers death four years ago. She cooked for me my whole life and when she passed I said “well who’s gonna cook for me now?” So I took matters into my own hands and began cooking. It started off with friends coming over and I’ll cook, to me hosting a sip & taste brunch. That even was successful however Chicago became dreadful to me and I just felt like I didn’t have the support that I needed to thrive within my business. August 2024 I moved here for my 30th, launched my business and now I’m booked & busy!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road! It takes a lot to own and operate a business. And when it comes to catering, your mind has to be at peace while cooking. At least mine does because I cook with love. It wasn’t nothing peaceful at all about me until I moved here!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Say It Ain’t So Jo Catering?
I specialize in gourmet scratch cooking. So far I’ve catered parties as little as 30 to catering and serving a party of 100+. What sets me apart from others is that I’m not your ordinary “white chef coat w/ a toque blanche (white chef hat)”. I’m very personal with my food & my clients as well. Always professional however I dress for comfort. My whole style is just unique. What I’m most proud of in regards to my brand is that I was able to finally brand it. I’ve always known that I would make a name for myself and I did. Very proud of how fast Say It Ain’t So Jo Catering is running through the streets of Nashville. I want your readers to know that if they’re in need of any services that I’m the one to bet on! If you’re an Athlete or someone who works a lot and doesn’t have time to cook? I offer meal prepping. Married and looking for an in- home cooking experience where I”ll come and prepare a dinner for you and your spouse? I’m the one. Or even birthdays, baby showers, black tie events, etc? I’m your woman!
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Don’t grow weary, always keep the faith.
