After two decades in marketing—working with nonprofits, small businesses, agencies, and corporations—life threw me a curveball at the end of 2020. I unexpectedly lost my job at a startup in Nashville, and honestly, starting my own agency wasn’t the plan. My initial goal was simple: take on 3-4 clients and keep things manageable. But those 3-4 clients quickly turned into 8-10, and before long, I needed extra hands to keep up. That’s when I realized—I’d created an agency, now known as Good Circle Marketing.
Through years of experience, one challenge stood out: so many small businesses and nonprofits were doing incredible work but struggled to tell their stories in a way that resonated. They didn’t need flashy campaigns; they needed a clear strategy and authentic messaging to amplify their impact. I’ve always believed that marketing is about more than selling—it’s about uncovering the heart of a business, crafting its story, and connecting with the people who need it most.
Juggling life as a wife, mom to teenagers, active community volunteer, and youth advisor at my church has shaped how I approach business daily. These roles have taught me the importance of leadership, compassion, and building genuine connections—values at the heart of everything I do professionally.
Today, I’m proud of where we’ve come. Good Circle Marketing is more than an agency; it’s a team dedicated to helping mission-driven businesses grow. From inspiring clients and a talented team to resources like A Good Pour podcast and our intern program, we’re making a difference. Like any small business, there have been moments of doubt—clients pausing contracts unexpectedly, adapting to rapid changes like AI in marketing, and navigating work-life balance. Right now, the marketing world is rapidly evolving due to artificial intelligence. Staying on top of these changes, continually learning and adapting our strategies to include the latest tools and platforms, has been both a challenge and an opportunity.
