Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsea Dawson.
Hi Kelsea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I knew I wanted to work for myself at an early age. After graduating, I started out in a variety of customer service roles, and tested out the event planning world. After years of hosting my own large events, planning weddings, and working for different event companies; I learned I wanted to own a building that all of these events could be hosted in. I am passionate about fellowship, and providing a comfortable space for friends and families to gather. This leads us to RSRVD Event Studio. After a long journey of shopping locations, this was the perfect combination of things I had been looking for all along the way.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This has absolutely not been a smooth road. Our current location was a new construction build, and all I can say is: if you know, you know. A part from that, creating a vision from thin air to executing it in real life, is a trying task. You overthink and obsess over every little detail, because well, details matter. Start to finish, everything matters. My husband and I also have two little ones, so managing a dream and chasing babies is a challenge in itself.
We’ve been impressed with RSRVD Event Studio , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are RSRVD Event Studio. To start, it’s pronounced “reserved”. (LOL) We are an intimate event space perfect for gatherings 50 guests or less. Our space is fully furnished, yet flexible enough in design to bring in a few extra tables and chairs if needed. We didn’t want to be another empty room that serves as a blank canvas; we wanted to create the feeling of comfort and home. Our price packages and design mimic the concept of “champagne taste on a beer budget”. Why should people have to sacrifice quality and aesthetics just to save a dollar? We pride ourselves on maintaining a quality environment without breaking the bank. Consider us for any birthday parties, bridal/baby showers, business meetings/workshops, and more!
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My family was big on getting everyone together for every little event celebration. No matter the birthday, the holiday, or even for a reason. I can’t specify one memory, but I do remember my childhood was filled with love and laughter every time we gathered around the table.
