Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Landon & Krista Angelucci. They shared the story about their team with us below:
It’s fascinating how life can take unexpected turns and lead us down paths we never anticipated. That’s precisely what happened when we, Mark and Krista, both moved to Nashville for separate reasons, only to end up forging a strong partnership in the world of real estate. Though we grew up on opposite sides of the country, our journeys eventually brought us together to create our business, HomesNash. Allow us to share our individual stories before diving into how our unique collaboration came to be. As for Krista, she grew up in Billerica, MA, where her passion for music started at a very young age. She spent years touring the New England area, opening for major acts, releasing music, and singing the National Anthem at numerous sporting events, such as Boston Celtics and New England Patriots. In 2013, Krista made her way to Nashville, continuing her music career and ultimately meeting her husband, AJ Kross.
Mark’s story, on the other hand, began in Bend, OR, but he has also lived in various parts of the country. At the age of 20, he decided to join the Marine Corps and even attended boot camp on his 21st birthday. Serving as a Machine Gunner, he was deployed to Afghanistan and Eastern Europe before leaving the military as a Sgt. Mark then entered the fitness and nutrition industry, eventually opening his own store in Nashville called BetterNaked Nutrition. After 2020, he closed the store and dove headfirst into the realm of real estate. Coincidentally, Mark and AJ Kross, Krista’s husband, were childhood friends, having known each other since they were 13 years old. It was through this connection that we, Mark and Krista, met and began developing a deep-rooted friendship. This bond eventually led to the formation of our real estate business partnership. Our company, HomesNash, operates as a real estate team under Crye-Leike East Nashville.
We attribute the success of our partnership to the unique qualities and strengths that each of us brings to the table. Mark provides an upfront and business-minded approach, while Krista offers a more patient and detail-oriented perspective. This dynamic ensures that we complement each other in a way that allows us to excel in the Nashville real estate industry, picking up where the other may fall short. It is this synergy that has given HomesNash its distinctive edge in the market.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When asked about the challenges and obstacles we face in the real estate industry, the first thing that comes to mind is striking the right balance between managing our real estate business, HomesNash and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. It’s all too easy to lose sight of everyday life priorities when running a business. However, one of the greatest strengths of our partnership is our ability to hold each other accountable while still affording each other the necessary freedom to spend time with our families and pursue our individual passions in the music and fitness industries.
Another significant challenge that we constantly grapple with is the ever-changing nature of the housing market.
Staying up-to-date and well-informed is crucial to effectively guide our clients in their quest to buy their dream home or sell a property filled with cherished memories. Navigating this dynamic industry requires constant learning and knowledge acquisition, which is why we are incredibly grateful for the support of our good friend, mentor, and broker, Eddie Ferrell. He has been a steadfast source of guidance and wisdom throughout our journey, and we attribute much of our success to his mentorship.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We established HomesNash with several key objectives in mind, one of which was to create a company slogan that truly embodied our vision and values. We chose “Empowering Possibilities” as our slogan because it reflects our desire to inspire and pave the way for others to achieve their goals, a sentiment deeply rooted in our personal backgrounds. Our mission is to be a source of hope and support for those we serve.
Another primary goal of ours was to bring a strong sense of honesty and transparency to the Nashville real estate market, ensuring that our client’s best interests remain our top priority. To achieve this, we knew that we needed to integrate the core values that govern our personal lives into our business at HomesNash. These core values include honesty, transparency, integrity, and commitment.
By adhering to these principles, we are able to hold ourselves to a higher standard and remain mindful that, although this is our business, it is not about us. Our enterprise is built around the people we serve and the clients who entrust us with the responsibility of guiding them through some of the most significant moments and decisions in their lives.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
A surprising fact about Krista is her achievement of creating her dream music video for her song “Jungle” as an unsigned artist in the music industry. This incredible opportunity began when I, Krista, reached out to Doc Antle regarding his safari in Myrtle Beach after being impressed by his son Kody Antle’s connection with animals on Instagram. What initially seemed like a far-fetched idea quickly turned into one of the most successful milestones in my music career. I guess, so goes the saying, You never know until you ask! After talking, Doc invited me and my video team to shoot the video for “Jungle,” with Kody playing the Tarzan character to my Jane. The experience was truly unforgettable, and the video gained over a million views on YouTube alone and was featured on multiple platforms, including Nickelodeon. I am forever grateful for the opportunity God gave me and for everyone who helped make the video possible.
As for Mark, a surprising aspect of my life, apart from being an infantryman in the Marine Corps, is that I lived in Kailua, Oahu, HI, for nearly two years as a property manager for the largest estate in Hawaii, owned by one of the world’s wealthiest individuals. I was offered this opportunity after someone who knew the owner noticed my management style and dedication to my work. My living expenses were fully covered, and I even resided within the estate I managed. My daily routine consisted of running on the beach, surfing, and overseeing the property.
I had the chance to travel throughout Hawaii, immerse myself in local culture, and learn about local traditions. This experience not only ranks among the best in my life but also significantly contributed to my business development skills. I cherish the memories I made during that time and wouldn’t trade the experience for anything.
