Today we’d like to introduce you to Markee Carter.
Hi Markee, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
How I got started in the business world. It started when I didn’t get a promotion at a job where I was overqualified for. When I didn’t get the promotion I started working on my company “We Legit LLC.” My company was established in August of 2021. Four years later still thriving, growing everyday, and being consistent with producing content.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No it hasn’t been a smooth road. I had a lot of hardship getting to where I’m at today. I had to build a following, build trust/good quality products, and stay consistent. My struggles were nobody believing in my company/brand, not making much sales, and not getting any recognition. After, my first six months thing became easier making merchandise for clients, producing good quality content for social media, and growth overall by being consistent.

We Legit Clothing is a brand that shows being legitimate in all aspects of life not just business. It’s really hard being “Legit” when the world throws so many negative influences your way trying to discredit what you’re building. To know about “We Legit” we help build character, art, and self-esteem when communicating with clients. Reason being we all have a purpose and everyone has a talent. We specializes in Shirts, Sweatshirts, Hoodies, and Letterman Jackets. Also, sports jerseys.
We Legit Clothing has grown to being recognized overseas and locally within certain regions of the United States. We are known for “Its Not Just A Brand It’s A Lifestyle.” My platform has build many peoples social media presence, built exposure worldwide, and even grown to starting a podcast on YouTube. What set my company apart is the dedication, the consistency, and the legacy it’s building on its own. My proudest moment is seeing my customers with a smile on there faces when receiving my merchandise and them taking a picture in it showing support in so many ways. It’s a feeling I can’t describe but it makes me feel appreciated and accomplished due to how I started without any recognition or assistance.
My brand has a strong reputation on being legitimate. I keep it that way in all aspects of my life, so when people try to break my spirit, my brand keeps me in check to where I don’t respond to negative energy or bad spirits. My motto is to build, show growth, and to show the younger generation its ways to become successful with being a statistic.
What does success mean to you?
I define success as if you’re proud of what you do that brings you joy. If you’re destined to be an employee nothing wrong with that, as long as it brings you joy and not stress, some people will consider that success. Everyone success is defined differently due to the nature of how they grew up and their views on life. For example, my success comes from staying on top of my goals I set for myself yearly and accomplishing them. As, long as I am growing everyday mentally, spiritually, and physically I’m very much good with that.
