Community Highlights: Meet Matthew Kleinman of KIT Plugins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Kleinman.

Hi Matthew, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always had a passion for music. From a young age, I played in bands and wrote songs. I knew I wanted to pursue a career in music so I attended Drexel University to get a degree in Music Tech and Business. After bouncing around the country working as a mix engineer I made my way to Nashville where I met John McBride. I saw an opportunity to mix my love of music and business by starting KIT Plugins.

After bringing my idea to John and getting him on board I spent two years developing the concept and raising money to build our first product. In June of 2021, KIT launched the BB N105, the culmination of three years of work. Ever since my focus has been on innovating new technology and pushing the boundaries of digital audio.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think any startup is easy, I know KIT had its rough times in the past few years. Someone once told me “Running a startup is like being in a slow-motion car crash… you dodge one obstacle just in time to see the next”.

Breaking into a crowded market and gaining the respect of the industry is a huge undertaking. My team and I have worked very hard to build a solid community around our products so we can have the freedom to create cool new products and take risks.

We’ve been impressed with KIT Plugins, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I created KIT Plugins to be a Tech-minded company, using new and revolutionary technology to create the best sounding analog modeled plugins, giving anyone, anywhere access to professional-level audio tools.

Using data and AI, KIT Plugins is advancing the development of innovative Tech to create better-sounding plugins and revolutionize the analog experience for plugin users. KIT Plugins is harnessing the power of AI without replacing the human creative element, empowering its customers to share their artistic prowess with the world.

I am most proud of the fantastic team I have helping me along this journey.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I have gathered a great group of investors who have not only trusted my vision with their money but also helped guide me through the crazy path that I have traveled these past years.

Since the early days, I have had the support of my long-time friend and now COO Jim Collett. When KIT was still just an Idea being developed in a single room, Jim was there helping me put all the pieces together.
