Community Highlights: Meet Meagan Gregory of Clean Bee Nashville LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meagan Gregory

Hi Meagan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Started off in the service industry. My first job was a server at a steak restaurant at 18. Worked in the service industry from server, to bartender, to manager and ended as a general manager in the 5 points of East Nashville.
I personally never wanted to be an owner and the way I managed was not very common. I treat all my staff as my co workers instead of my employees. I treated them all as equals. Most managers forget how to treat people. I treated my staff as human beings instead of worker bees.
8 years ago I realized I went as far as I could without starting my own restaurant or bar. I felt stuck in the same route. I didn’t know what was next until I had someone come in one night when I was the closing manager at the restaurant. She talked about the Airbnb cleaning business.
After helping her for a couple weeks I turned in my notice. I saw the potential and went full throttle after that.
I wanted to start my own company so I could push myself more. 8 years later I’ve grown with more properties, experience and my team. It has been a fun ride and can’t wait to keep it growing along with myself and my team. I wouldn’t be where I am at without my team. They mean everything to me and I’m not just talking work wise.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Started off just me doing it all. As I took on more properties I realized I needed help. I had friends help and then needed to hire actual staff. The stress is quite a bit much pending on what’s happening in Nashville (CMA’s, titans games, concerts, etc). As an owner you don’t have a day off. It is taxing on a human but wouldn’t change it

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I always believe in things happening naturally. Talk to your professional friends and don’t be afraid to be vulnerable. Those people see your goals and your heart
