Hi Myah , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hi, my name is Myah Kimbrough & I am the owner of Luxe Lashes By Myah J.
From the Windy City 312 , I started my lash brand during my undergraduate studies at the illustrious Tennessee State University. I’ve always been passionate about uplifting women while making them feel beautiful, confident, and empowered.
I didn’t want to limit myself to just servicing lashes, I desired to be a businesswoman. I wanted to build a brand centered around luxury, quality, education, and empowering other women.
Four years later, I’m a full-time lash artist, retailer, and educator, continuing to grow the vision God placed in me.
I’ve gotten this far by the grace of God, always referencing Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course there has been challenges, you wouldn’t be able to level up not conquering challenges. There have been sacrifices, doubt, major investments, slow seasons, and plenty of trial and error. Building a business from the ground up is a skill. It takes patience, and it truly builds character.
I started my business in college, so I was a full-time student running a business, while simultaneously involved in an organization on campus, and trying to have a social life.
One of my biggest challenges was learning how to pivot. How to still operate in slow seasons, learning what techniques, products, and marketing worked for me. Learning the business side of things while building the service side. Not only that, but also just remaining steadfast and remembering my why. These aspects taught me some of my biggest lessons and helped shape the entrepreneur I am today.

As a lash artist, retailer, and educator what sets me apart is my diligence and commitment to continuous education. I educate myself on the science behind lash artistry and product development. I don’t just provide a service, I understand my clients’ wants and needs and use eye shape, facial features, and intentional mapping to create customized results.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My biggest advice for anyone starting out is to give yourself grace and be coachable. You’re not going to have everything figured out in the beginning, and that’s part of the process. Be open minded, perfect your craft, and never stop learning.
Most importantly, never compare your beginning to someone else’s prime. Stay consistent, and let God guide the process.
