Today we’d like to introduce you to Nallely Tyler.
Hi Nallely , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve loved beauty and wellness for as long as I can remember, but my passion really started when I went with my mom to get her first facial. She’s always struggled with acne, and seeing how much it affected her confidence made a lasting impression on me. The spa room was small but peaceful, lavender in the air, soft music playing and I remember thinking, This is actually a job? Her esthetician told me she’d been doing it for 10 years, and I was in shock. That moment definitely planted a seed, even if it took me years to act on it.
My love for makeup came later, during my own struggles with self-image. I grew up in the YouTube tutorial era, with Michelle Phan, Dulce Candy, all the early beauty gurus. Watching them made me want to experiment, to learn how to enhance my features and feel good in my own skin.I’ve always been obsessed with blush and fell in love with how something so simple could make me feel instantly more confident and beautiful!
Over time, beauty became more than just aesthetic, it became a tool for self-expression and empowerment. Whether it’s helping someone feel confident after a facial or using makeup to bring out their natural features, I realized that making people feel good about themselves is where my heart truly is.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, for me, the hardest part was just taking the leap and starting. I’m a Virgo, so, naturally, I’m an overthinker and a bit of a perfectionist. That can be a strength, sure, but when you live in your head and stay stuck there without taking action, it becomes a trap.
For years, I told myself I shouldn’t go to esthetician school. I already had a stable job working at a nonprofit, where I got to dress up, walk into a clean, professional environment every day, the kind of job my parents dreamed of for me. They both worked blue-collar jobs, and seeing me in that space made them proud. And for a lot of Latinas, I think that’s something we carry deeply: the weight of making our families proud, especially when they’ve sacrificed so much.
I convinced myself that I couldn’t build a real career doing makeup and facials. I thought, How could I possibly make a real difference in the world through beauty? I was already working in a nonprofit, doing good work, so I told myself that should be enough.
And then there was the comparison. I’d look at other makeup artists and estheticians and think, My skills aren’t like theirs. I’m not at that level. I can’t do it. That kind of self-doubt held me back for a long time.
We’ve been impressed with Looks By Nallely , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I just want readers to know that beauty is so much more than skin deep. It’s not about covering up, it’s about enhancing what’s already there and feeling confident in your own skin. At Looks By Nallely, my goal is to create a space where you can pause, breathe, and reconnect with yourself. Whether you’re coming in for a makeup appointment or a facial, it’s about giving yourself permission to slow down and feel cared for.
I also want people to know that makeup and self-care aren’t just for special occasions, you can wear a full face of makeup, lashes and all, to the grocery store if it makes you feel good! You don’t need a reason or a big event to show up for yourself. Prioritize yourself now, because if you don’t, no one else will!
