Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Egar

Hi Sam, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I began my career in events in 2017 when I was a freshman in college. Honestly, at that point, I didn’t think of it as a career path; it was more of a way to meet people and stay busy. HiFi Travel has blown my expectations out of the water since I founded it. It is now the nationwide leader in collegiate formal travel and event travel, operating in 50+ markets throughout the country and generating over $13 million in travel packages. Internally, we have expanded as well. We hold two corporate offices located in Chicago and Las Vegas with 30 committed employees who are passionate about creating meaningful travel experiences.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I believe no entrepreneur has had a truly smooth road when taking their initiative from the ground-up. Our largest road block, like many others, occurred during the pandemic in 2020. Right when HiFi was gaining traction and steady momentum, the pandemic forced us to shut down for 1.5 years and refund our clients in full. In the travel and events industry, there are an infinite amount of variables that are both in and out of your control. We took this off-time to optimize the chances of our future success by planning for those variables that we could control. At HiFi Travel, we pride ourselves on offering white-glove service to our clients, guaranteeing the ultimate guest experience, no matter the circumstances.

As you know, we’re big fans of HiFi Travel. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Our business, HiFi Travel, specializes in travel and event packages for registered students across the US. We combine events and travel to maximize value for our clients while minimizing costs. With on-site event support, clients can focus on enjoying their experiences.

We leverage our volume to strengthen relationships with major suppliers, offering incredibly discounted pricing and exclusive deals. Our commitment to clients and suppliers ensures seamless service, even in challenging situations. We take pride in resolving issues swiftly and efficiently, even if it does mean getting on a 4 am call for an upgraded replacement in a short amount of time.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The quality that I feel is most important to my success is understanding that success is a collective group effort. Individual greatness or accomplishments do not matter as much as team buy-in. I have been incredibly lucky to have an amazing team, and I believe in finding the right people and giving them the right opportunities. All that to say, luck has also been on my side in achieving success.
