Community Highlights: Meet Sandy Hall of One Of A Kind

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandy Hall.

Hi Sandy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I began my One Of A Kind journey 11 years ago under Ms. Mary Lees Wilson. From wrapping presents to the importance of customer service, I was reared by the best. Alongside working in retail, I also taught second and third grade for three years. I enjoyed teaching but always felt a constant tug at my heart to be solely at One Of A Kind. In May of this year, I had the opportunity to buy the business. As any life change would be, I was nervous but also very excited! I knew this was what the good Lord had prepared me for all these years, and now was my time. So, I leaped! This journey has been nothing short of incredible. If it weren’t for my family, friends, best customers, and Ms. Mary Lees, my dream would not have become a reality. One Of A Kind has always been more than a gift shop to us; it’s our ministry. We are in a position every day to share the love of Jesus each time our doors open. Selling is fun, but no joy can compare to ultimately doing what He has called us to do.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I was fortunate that the road to becoming an owner was smooth. Throughout the whole process, there was no hiccup or hold-up.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about One Of A Kind?
We are a small business located in the heart of downtown Natchez, MS. We have been here for over 30 years. We sell various items from seasonal, Etta B Pottery, Vera Bradley, Melissa and Doug, and more. We take pride in our complimentary gift wrap. No item is too big, too small, or awkwardly shaped that we can’t make look like a million! Our wrapping is known well around our little town.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory would be going to the dollar store with my mamaw. She would hand my twin sister Brandy and me a $5 bill, and you would have thought we won the lotto! Each time we walked to the register with hands full of trinkets and goodies. It was the little things ❤️
