My story started long before Spraytans by Shanna ever existed — over 25 years ago, with one single spray tan that changed everything for me. I still remember the exact feeling: the color, the glow, the way my confidence rose in an instant. It wasn’t just a tan… it was a transformation. And even then, I knew I wanted to someday create that same experience for other women — the kind that makes you stand a little taller and see yourself the way the world already does.
Before sunless tanning became my career, I spent years in new home sales as a professional sales manager. It taught me how to understand people, how to connect, and how to guide them into something that felt like “home.” But in 2010, I felt a deeper calling to step into something that was mine — something more aligned with my heart.
What happened next was beautifully organic. My daughter danced competitively, so naturally I began tanning her team. Then the moms. Then their friends. Soon I was mobile tanning all over town, one woman at a time, building this business through pure word of mouth and genuine connection.
One day at the gym I attended, I learned their other locations offered sunless tanning. When I heard that, something inside me sparked — that same excitement I felt from my very first tan. I approached the owner, shared my passion, and asked for the chance to bring that glow to her members. She said yes, and for a couple of years I poured my heart into that space, refining my craft and learning exactly what women craved from a luxury sunless experience.
Eventually, I knew it was time to create a home of my own — a place where women could walk in, breathe, and feel seen. I found my location, opened the doors, and I’ve now spent over seven years building a brand rooted in confidence, trust, artistry, and the quiet luxury of taking care of yourself.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth no but just where I needed to be absolutely. There have been partnerships gone wrong but many that were beautiful. You learn a lot about yourself and others true intent with entrepreneurship. I truly feel the bumps along the road are what really mold you and strengthen you.
