Hi Shavonne, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Bartending has always been something that I was interested in. Growing up, my mother talked about how she and my aunt’s worked in the lounges as cocktail waitresses and bartenders. Listening to their stories about serving customers and the fun that they had doing the job, I became interested in doing the same. I went to bartending school simultaneously while pursuing my bachelor’s degree. After I graduated, I took my first bartending job at a country club. Here is where I learned art of bartending, professionalism, customer service, and the customer experience. I always knew that I wanted to own my own business, and as I started considering my retirement options it became something I really wanted to pursue. With the help of Corner to Corner, I was able to write a business plan and launch Your Signature Sips in June 2023. Even though the business is fairly new, I have over 20 years of bartending experience. I have utilized everything I’ve learned to help cultivate a one of a kind experience for every customer that I serve. The tagline, “Let us help you find your signature,” embodies my commitment to personalizing each customer experience with cocktails that reflect their style and story to create memorable moments that leave a lasting impression.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a business has not been easy. I have struggled along the way to find the right people, in the right place, at the right time to help learn the ins and outs of building and establishing a business. I believe that mentorship is a key component in being successful and a critical piece that I was missing.

Your Signature Sips is a mobile bartending service that offers experienced and professional bartending services for any of your life events. Beyond just serving drinks, we offer mixology classes and liquor education sessions, allowing you and your guests to explore the art and science behind crafting the perfect cocktail. Your Signature Sips specializes in creating cocktails that appeal to different palates by putting together flavor profiles you like for a bespoke experience. We focus on making mocktails that can easily be turned into cocktails to be able to appeal to a large audience of customers and this is what sets us apart. Our biggest seller is currently our Lavender Mint Lemonade and is requested most by our repeat customers. With Your Signature Sips, we strive to deliver what we say to build trust along with providing our customers with a great experience. In doing so, we hope to have customers that come for the drinks but come back for the experience!

How do you think about happiness?
Seeing the smiles on my customers faces make me happy. I get to interact with them and come up with signature cocktails for them based on flavor profiles that they know and love. Hearing them compliment how well flavors work together and how the cocktail tastes always makes me do my happy dance. Customer service and the customer experience are my main priority in my business and I love when I get it right!
