My journey began with a simple but bold idea: to create an experience that makes women feel celebrated, confident, and larger than life. As a travel professional, I’ve always believed in crafting exceptional moments for people, but my vision for Nashville Flying Dress was born from a deeply personal moment.

In 2021, while preparing for two major surgeries, I took a leap of faith and traveled out of the country for my own flying dress experience. That trip was transformative—I came back so inspired that I immediately purchased the domain name for Nashville Flying Dress, dreaming of bringing the magic I felt to women in my own community. But as life often does, my journey took a detour.

For two years, I juggled the idea while working in corporate America, writing healthcare policy. I made the difficult but liberating decision to leave corporate life and go all-in on growing my travel agency, Officially Crowned Travel. That decision also gave me the courage to finally bring Nashville Flying Dress to life.

I joined Corner to Corner, an incredible program that gave me the framework to turn my vision into reality. In July 2023, Nashville Flying Dress officially launched as a local tour experience. What started as a personal dream has since grown into something far bigger. We’ve been named a “Must Try” experience in Nashville and were honored as a finalist for the 2024 Best of Music City Community Choice Award for Seasonal/Tourist Attraction.

Our mission goes beyond creating stunning photos—it’s about empowering every woman who steps into one of our flowing satin gowns to feel beautiful, confident, and unstoppable. From mothers and daughters to expectant parents, groups of friends celebrating milestones, and more, the stories and smiles we’ve captured inspire me every single day.

As a certified woman-owned business, we take pride in connecting with our community. Through partnerships with local organizations, we’ve rooted our journey in a dream that’s bigger than just a photo session—it’s an opportunity for women to truly fly, figuratively and literally.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. We’ve faced our share of challenges, from dealing with a bad actor creating accounts in our business name on tour platforms—requiring a cease and desist to resolve—to the intricate process of developing an experience that’s both unique and authentic to Nashville.

One of our biggest hurdles has been educating the market about our offering and helping people understand that Nashville Flying Dress is more than a photo session; it’s a celebration of confidence, beauty, and unforgettable moments.

That said, every obstacle has been small compared to the immense potential and promise we see in what we offer. The joy and empowerment we bring to women who want to capture a special moment in time during their visit to Nashville keep us focused and motivated. The road may not have been smooth, but it’s been worth every twist and turn to create something truly meaningful.

Our vibrant green dress, affectionately called “Out East Energy,” represents our commitment to Corner to Corner, a program that helped us bring Nashville Flying Dress to life. A portion of the proceeds from every session featuring this dress is donated to the organization, allowing us to pour into the same community that has poured into us.
