Hi Taylor Griffin &, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It all started when I, Taylor, began working at the Ivy Corner in 2020 for the previous owners. Over time, I completely fell in love with the shoppe— the charm, the customers, and the sense of community it brought. After a few years, my mom and I decided to take a leap of faith and asked the owners if they’d ever considered selling. About a week later, we were signing papers— truly a dream come true!
We officially purchased the Ivy Corner in March 2022. The shop had been part of our town since 2000, and our goal was to honor its roots while bringing it back to life. Together, we’ve added a wide variety of new gift options, more modern home décor, and a full-service flower shoppe— which our customers have really embraced! It’s been such a special journey building something meaningful together as a mom-and-daughter team.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like all things, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. Owning a small business comes with its share of long days, learning curves, and unexpected challenges. But the community we’ve built within the Ivy Corner is full of people who continuously lift us up when things get tough.
We’ve had countless “God wink” moments that remind us we’re right where we’re supposed to be. I’ll never forget the day our UPS driver, Dewayne, walked in while I, Taylor, was mid-breakdown and stopped to pray with me right there in the shoppe. Or friends like Jennifer Jordan, who drop by with treats— just because.
So no, it hasn’t always been smooth. But it’s the love, faith, and kindness of this community that keep us steady when the road gets bumpy.

The Ivy Corner Gift + Flower Shoppe is, at its heart, a local gift and flower shoppe filled with charm, warmth, and a little bit of magic. We specialize in high-quality, unique gifts and home décor that you won’t find just anywhere. Our products range from baby and children’s items to men’s gifts, self-care products, candles, jewelry, sympathy items, and so much more— truly something for everyone.
We love carrying products that have a story behind them— whether that means featuring the work of local artists or offering goods made by women around the world whose craftsmanship supports their communities. We also offer free gift wrapping year-round and bridal and baby registry services to make gifting simple and special for every occasion.
Seasonal décor is a big part of what we do, and Christmas is our favorite time of year. Each holiday season, the shoppe transforms into something straight out of a Hallmark movie— think multiple trees, ornaments galore, garland everywhere, and Christmas music playing nonstop.
Around here, we like to say Taylor does the gifts, and Mom does the flowers— and boy, does she do some flowers! Mom is known for her one-of-a-kind arrangements and for how long her flowers last. Customers rave about them!
What makes the Ivy Corner so special is that it’s run by a mom-and-daughter duo. We each bring our own touch to the business, but we share the same heart for making people feel seen and appreciated— whether that be through a thoughtful gift or a beautiful flower arrangement.
One of our favorite things we do is our Flower Fairy Program. We take blooms that may be past our standard of selling, but still have plenty of life left, turn them into cheerful arrangements, and deliver them to people in our community who could use a little joy. We accept nominations for flower fairy arrangements both in-store and on Facebook, and it’s become such a special way to give back.
We’re honored to have been voted Readers’ Choice Best Gift Shop four years in a row — 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 — and to be named a Top 3 Finalist for the Northwest Tennessee Tourism Association Cornerstone Awards.
At the end of the day, our hope is that everyone who walks through our doors feels the same warmth and joy that we do every day— that small-town, cozy kind of happy.
